So now that we've had time to let this announcement sink in..... Who faces Hiroshi Tanahashi? In my mind there's only two options. Zack Sabre Jnr or Prince Devitt. While I love Haskins, Scurll, Mastiff and think all three would have excellent matches against Tanahashi, I think only Zack or Devitt would bring something truly epic to the table.

Dammit, planning to move to asia at the end of september, things are getting tempting to stay another month. Considering Tanahashi's got plenty of years left and I will hopefully get a years work in Tokyo at some point in the near future I will grin and bear not being at this one

Would Haskins and Scurlls ties to Dragongate rule them out cobystsag? I dont know enough about Japanese wrestling politics

Honestly Zack's ties to NOAH could also play a factor. I'd imagine with Scurll and Haskins not being regular touring gaijins with Dragon Gate in Japan that complications would be less than Zack's NOAH relations as he is a repeat gaijin for NOAH. But New Japan have shown a lot of co-operation with both NOAH and Dragon Gate in recent times.Recently Karl Anderson faced Roderick Strong (NOAH gaijin) in ROH and Jushin Thunder Liger faced Anthony Nese (DG USA/EVOLVE) and Davey Richards (Fuckwit) with no complications and politics involved. It's all dependent on the circumstances I imagine.

Why is this on the same day as 4FW M Pro?Japanese talent in the UK is pretty rare so for 2 big shows to be on the same day seems a bit mental. It's probably going to be the same fans wanting to see both shows, so running 2 big shows on the same day is only going to split the fans and split the potential gate.Such a shame we have to choose one or the other, if only 1 of the shows was on the Sunday.

I'd imagine you book the date Tanahashi gives you rather than you tell him the date. I can't imagine him being available on many dates.Just unfortunate that it has clashed.

Absolutely, if that is only date you can get him you go with it. It was more of a rhetorical question of all the days he is available it just happens to clash with the only other day all year (outside of DGUK) that has lots of Japanese talent booked.
