Silvervision.co.uk RIP

We wish Silver Vision all the best with their future endeavours.

From 2pm today Silvervision.co.uk will be gone - you may see it disappear at 2, or just a bit afterwards.

The Silver Vision website has been commissioned to the scrapheap. It's all down to DNS servers now...

I feel really genuinely sad at this site going down. I worked at Clear Vision for a number of years and along with Midnight Zeus built that site in its present incarnation. I cannot tell you how fiercely proud we were of that site. It was paramount to us that the website listings were the first on the block, and as accurate as can be, with the best quality cover images we could get. As fans ourselves it was absolutely crucial to us that the facts were right. You've no idea the amount of decisions WWE made that we pushed back on, to make sure the details were correct. I sometimes spent hours making mock covers for things that were never going to be the final cover, just because I knew the fans would prefer it over "NO IMAGE AVAILABLE". We'd keep a constant eye on the forums, looking out for feedback and acting wherever possible. The creation of "Mark" - the avatar for the site - was one the best moments we ever had. Finally the site had a character to get behind,a face. That site represents a big chunk of my CV, and worked with some of the most incredible people there whom I still keep in touch with.

The warehouse there is tremendous. As a wrestling fan staring round at all the copies is staggering. And THE CLOSET where a copy of everything ever released under the label is a mark's dream. And you should see the boardroom...

I've probably dealt with plenty of you on the phone or over email, or packaged your order, or picked you as a competition winner, so I hope you'll remember Silver Vision with fondness. I'll certainly be sad to see it slip off the Internet. Goodbye Silvervision.co.uk.

Your efforts did not go unnoticed - I think the comments on the UKFF verify this. The service you provided really was second to none.

Im VERY saddened by the closure of Silvervision, the customer service was the best i have ever experienced, orders were always second to none, excellent value, always listened to and respected their loyal fan base.

Be a big loss, i hope the employees move onto Clearvision now, i would hate to see them out of work, esp the ladies i spoke to when i rang them up.

Really wish I bought a shit load of DVD's as they were closing but I didn't get around to it. Plus, I thought it was going to be like one of those never ending "closing down sales" you see about in town for five years. Some of the members of this forum got some cracking deals, same over at TWO.

Clear Vision is the parent company. Silver Vision was a label they traded WWE products out of. It's not like "the Silver Vision people sit over there and we sit over here". Most people do work for all the labels in the company and there's still plenty to do.

The 'ladies' have been working there for a long time and will continue to do so, mostly because of the amazing service they put out combined with the insane retards they have to deal with on the phone. There are many, ahem, special recurring callers.

Brought a tear my eye reading that 'Black2'. Actually that's a lie, I just have hay fever.

Removing 'Mark' as my avatar earlier this week was a sure sign that things were moving on and to think I was brought into the company years ago to work on wwfvideo.co.uk which then became silvervision.co.uk. I used to get genuinely excited about the upcoming release schedule, especially when a Midnight Express or Zeus match looked set to make it to DVD. I was involved with Tagged Classics from the very beginning, and as a fan of the classic years of WWF/E it was so great to see those DVDs released. I was glad to get Triple H: That Damn Good on a Tagged Classics release as it was because of me that the original release got bumped in the UK to make way for Hulk Still Rules - we only had time to release one and at the time a Hulk DVD was sure to sell by the bucket load, and it did.

For over 12 years, Silvervision.co.uk (wwfvideo.co.uk) was the biggest part of my working life, and for the most part it was a labour of love throughout. It was so nice to deal with wrestling fans( most of the time), and still is with other brands - we/they have a passion that is pretty much unrivaled.

Just to add to what 'Black 2' and 'Midnight Zeus' have said on here, I too worked at Silver Vision for many years and absolutely loved it. I think it really helped to have fans work at the company as we were the target audience. Being the first to see the release schedule, the masters, organise the Tagged Classics release order and create my own match lists for compilations was a thrill. To then see everyone online slag off the match lists was funny too! RIP Silver Vision.
