Minor news items that don't deserve a thread

If Rock and Cena are both in the elimination chamber they could put Cena in first, with Rock coming out last. They spend the whole match eyeing eachother up, eager to go at it only for a heel like Punk to cheat his way into eliminating Cena just before Rock comes out. They majorly tease a confrontation with out pulling the trigger and pile all that heat onto the heel. The fans would go home happy as the Rock comes out his pod to kick ten shades of shit out of the heel

Edit: they could even have Cena batter the heel for taking away his chance at getting his win back. Cena and Rock exchange punches before the chamber fills with refs to get Cena out. Rock and Cena spend a while beating up refs and security until Cena hits the attitude adjustment on the Rock allowing Punk to pin him. That sets up a triple threat at Mania. Attitude-tastic

An independent film titled "Pro Wrestlers vs. Zombies" is currently in post-production after filming over the course of the summer of 2012 and features appearances by a number of names, including Terry Funk and Roddy Piper.

The film, which raised over $30,000 via Kickstarter.com, is being directed by Cod Knotts.

Listed in the cast according to IMDB.com are Roddy Piper, Terry Funk, Shane Douglas, Matt Hardy, Larry Zbyszko, Reby Sky, Sylvester Terkay and Raven. Douglas and Terkay filmed several scenes at an Extreme Rising event in Queens, NY last June.

Douglas is also listed as a Producer on the project and was involved in their Kickstarter campaign earlier this year.

We'll have more on this, well, unique project as we get it. Unless the zombies rise before then.

I love random shit like this. Bring it on.

I know who Matt Bentley is. It was more of a "is he not dead/working at a petrol station" type question. I haven't heard his name in a good 6 years. TNA should promote this like All Star.

One that stands out a bit for me is Red. I really enjoyed his last run with the X belt (even if Don West was a bit of an unnecessary bolt on) and he's probably still only about 30. Stood out for me in an increasing era of kids packing in as much wacky shit as they could, as a bloke who (even at a young age) was intelligent enough to keep his biggest dives to a minimum and save it for the false finishes/finish when it mattered. I remember his match with Homicide on one of the TNA pay per views in 2010 as being a perfect opener which had a good build, didn't outstay it's welcome and featured a cool finishing sequence. Which is what you want from your opening match, ideally.

I presume the random tag match show for TNA will be the one that airs outside the US in place of the cancelled September PPV, so the gimmick helps get round having no idea now who'll be mates or feuding by then.

.... but.... isn't the point of Jokers Wild/Lethal Lottery tournaments booking matches with the easy storylines of "friends/partners forced to fight each other" and "men that hate each other forced to coexist"? If they film matches now for a show that doesn't air for eight months there is a real chance at least some of the wrestlers won't be acting the way they'll be meant to come the time of broadcast. Unless you ask all the wrestlers to act in a fairly "neutral to each other" manner towards each other, partners and opponents both, and have the commentators praise the "professionalism" of the wrestlers involved for just getting on with the match. Which would be dull as fuck. Plus there's the problem with not even knowing if all the talent involved will even still work for TNA by September. This is of course assuming that they air it as current rather than just admit "here's a little something we taped in January" unless say Magnus shows up on NXT in the interim.

Moot point anyway I'd guess, as I don't think there's a chance in hell of a major US company filming a show with their active roster for broadcast eight months hence. The X Division one is more likely to be the one used - if indeed that's what they are for - since a great proportion of the matches can involve these former stars so there can easily be no getting mixed up with angles now or angles occurring around the air date. In addition when the commentary gets dubbed on, if any of the "current" guys have become "former" by the time it airs, instead of saying "what a great match Christopher Daniels had with AJ Styles last week on Impact" they can say stuff like "the Fallen Angel had a great career in TNA" if Daniels packs it in between now and then or loses his marbles and goes back to ROH.

More likely Jokers Wild airs in a few weeks time instead of a PPV in February and X-Travaganza in September for me.

So is it looking like there won't even be a Feb PPV next year?

No chance.

But then again, I've been wrong before.
