  1. Past hour
  2. The MJF/Cole stuff was a fucking brilliant midcard story. Unfortunately MJF was World Champion at the time. It would've been perfect for the TNT or tag titles.
  3. I just checked out his filmography and I'd completely forgotten that he directed Dog Day Afternoon which I loved and thought was excellent with an outstanding performance by Pacino. The other two of his that I've seen are Serpico, which featured another tour de force performance from Pacino and is another fantastic film, and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, which I think I watched after seeing a review on YouTube and again really enjoyed. So four for four from Lumet with two absolute all-timers. I tried to watch The Offence, possibly after seeing a post by yourself, but wasn't in the right frame of mind for it at the time. Will definitely get back to it at some point. A few recent watches: The Pursuit of D.B. Cooper (1981) A fictional account of what happened to D.B. Cooper after he parachuted from Flight 305 somewhere over Washington in 1971. It’s safe to say that whatever did happen to Cooper, it isn’t what was depicted in this. Feels like a missed opportunity. Disappointing. The Freshman (1925) (YouTube) Set to start at Tate University, Harold Lamb has visions of being the most popular student on campus, but on arrival quickly becomes the butt of everyone's jokes. The film was quite funny although there was nothing about Harold Lloyd that grabbed me like Chaplin or, especially, Keaton did. Blinded by the Light (2019) (BBC iPlayer) Set in 1987, a teenage Pakistani migrant living in England and with dreams of being a writer finds inspiration in the songs of Bruce Springsteen. A fairly predictable and clichéd coming of age story. Perfectly watchable but nothing special and the musical numbers are cringeworthy. Scoop (2024) How BBC Newsnight secured their infamous 2019 interview with Prince Andrew. Having never seen the original interview, I found the second half of this gripping and it saved the movie for me. Gillian Anderson’s resemblance, the mannerisms, the voice etc. to Emily Maitlis was remarkable. Frantic (1988) Whilst visiting Paris for a medical convention, Dr. Richard Walker’s wife suddenly vanishes from their hotel room and so begins a search throughout the City to find out what’s happened to her. I did like this but not sure it needed to be two hours and I feel the story could’ve been comfortably told in ninety minutes.
  4. Yup. Lady Blossom/Jeanie Clarke. An Essex girl. Very good heel in World Class.
  5. I had a real lightbulb moment when the talking head, Jeanie Clarke was shown as Lady Blossom.
  6. Today
  7. Handsome Luke vs. Joe Schilling in Karate Combat tonight. Here's the youtube link to the full show if you are interested:
  8. Yeah my wife asked if it's something she'd enjoy. I said no. I'm not sure if I could sit through it again.
  9. About ÂŁ16 on the Triller/FITE website which charges in dollars, for some reason.
  10. The Killer. Really really enjoyed it. The Fass is a brilliant actor and I think his resemblance to later years Scott Walker added to the performance. I really enjoyed the monotony of the job, something you don’t often see in films involving assassins. 4 broken noses out of 5.
  11. Cole has done a few 'Story time' skits like some old fashioned Jackanory type scene but definitely not been wrestling. Certainly haven't seen him in the ring for a little while and it seems to be focused around RODDDEERRRICCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK
  12. Episode 4 was very harrowing. My girlfriend sobbed during his comedy show breakdown. Absolutely brilliant and heartbreaking show that struck a few nerves. Great performances too. Think it’s a show I couldn’t watch again though.
  13. Oh also, this is not my dog so apologies for veering off topic, but I got to meet and feed some tapirs the other week and it was a magical experience. I think at my core I’m a guy who appreciates a long snout. I should add that they don’t live in this little shed. They have a massive outdoor habitat, this is just where they come in to sleep if it’s cold, to eat and go do signings/meet and greets with fans.
  14. When you fart in the bath and the bubbles tickle your balls a bit.
  15. How To Be Tough. Consistently the best YouTube channel. Some chippy content as well. There's also quite a bit of retro gaming stuff on there and a superb video of a reporter visiting Cuba and Castro in the early 60s.
  16. Melvyn Bragg with a fistful of chicken nuggets at Bracknell Maccy D's. Chose double ketchup as his dip options, the mad twat.
  17. What are you on about? This has pretty much been the standard PPV price across all wrestling events for about twenty years.
  18. On my first visit to Vegas in 2012 I actually had a snoop around Caesar’s looking for the “arena”. I didn’t realise it had long been built upon. Heartbreaking… I’ve not seen Leon Slater wrestle on a US-held TNA show yet, but he’s on the preshow tonight.
  19. Two miles I walk every morning.
  20. ÂŁ19.99 you robbing bustards. Thats only ÂŁ7 less than the cheapest ticket at all in. Better be good.
  21. It's on Youtube in the UK mate. Got to pay for it but it is available
  22. Yeah as fun as MJF's stuff with Cole was at points, looking back it definitely hurt his reign, imo. Odds on Undisputed Kingdom being dead before MJF even returns? The faction is already ice cold and I don't think Cole has even been on TV recently. Feels like everyone involved already sees the writing on the wall. State of Max Caster. Chucking his belt on the floor gave off real I'm fucked and I know it vibes. Gone by the end of the year I reckon and %100 convinced that The Acclaimed are doing the job on Sunday. Where did it all go wrong?
  23. Not entirely sure, but would not be 100% surprised if the Transformers Movie was the first cinema film I ever saw.
  24. The Logan Paul Levesque era needs to get tighter on security when it comes to fan signs. Five minutes into Smackdown and I'd already died laughing twice at 'I yeeted all over myself' and 'AJ Cycles' signs. The latter was in the front row, too. Phenomenal suit wearing by Solo. LOVE that he kept his handwraps on... it was like in a WWE game cutscene, where they layer an outfit onto the characters existing ring gear. You never know when you're going to need to thumb someone in the neck, I guess. Paul Heyman/Solo is a tremendous dynamic. Great stuff. It was a good episode, I suppose, but it absolutely reeks of that 'Post Mania, Pre Draft' season. I think Knight to Raw makes sense, but I also wouldn't be against moving Priest, Drew and Punk to Smackdown, and Cody, Styles and someone like Logan Paul to Raw. Really mix it up. I think Drew/Punk/Priest need to move as a package, because Drew/Punk when it happens will be the real main event programme on whatever show its on and Priest... God love him... isn't quite at main event level yet. I also want Cody as far away from the Bloodline as its possible to be. I'd draft him to Dynamite for a year if that's what I had to do.
  25. Yeah just finished Baby Reindeer. Hadn't read anything before so didn't really know what I was getting myself into. But damn. Absolutely one of the most intense and harrowing things I've sat through. The performances are layered and there's so much confusion and emotion and definitely worth watching.
