Drfunke
Hi ladies and gents, Â Im looking to host a night maybe once a month in a venue in the North East (Newcastle) sometime in the new year. Â Have any of you any experience of this kind of thing? Have any hints or tips? Â Speaking to a few people where I work (which has a strong base of wrestling fans) they would be up for this... Keith Houchen
If you mean running a promotion, Don't. If you're asking on here, you aren't nearly ready to do so and it'll go tits up very quickly. Stick to being an analrapist.
TheShowOff
I used to host seedy wrestling nights in my basement.
Drfunke
Hi no not a promotion... Christ no. Just getting a bar to let us use a room or the bar for a night. Stick on some wrestling on TV, do a quiz or something like that
Undefeated Steak
Start off by inviting your friends and workmates who are into wrestling down to your local once a month and see if it grows from there. If you book a venue, put up posters or whatever and charge people to go then you're gonna have no chance. Besides, the projector probably won't turn up. Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted December 21, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted December 21, 2014 I’d be interested in this. Quilliam Brothers Tea House near Haymarket has a small cinema room downstairs, although I’m not sure what hire prices are, and downside is—being a tea house—there’s no booze served. Keith Houchen
Do you need some sort of license to broadcast stuff to a crowd in a venue? I know Fab Cafe in Manchester show PPVs the next evening and show films, have Game Of Thrones nights (although they have that on Sky Atlantic) and all that. Glass Smash
The only thing about taking part in any kind of wrestling quiz it always turns into a " I know more about wrestling than you" or "I've watched wrestling longer than you" kind of night. Wrestling fans hate to be outdone by other wrestling fans on their knowledge of the business. It's bad enough on online forums.

Drfunke
Haha cheers for the input guys. Just fancy doing something this year like this. Big group in my work up for it and even just getting a pub to stick some drinks offers on to get us in the place etc. There's a market for a wrestling themed pub I'm sure in the North East. Loads of promotions about etc. Just a small bar
Keith Houchen
Of course, fancy dress is a must. You could even set up a FB page and post the fancy dress pics. Whichever one gets the most likes wins a prize at the next night.

You could cut a deal with a micro brewery to make wrestling named ales. Get John Matrix to design the logos.  Just as long as no WRESTLING~! chants were allowed.
