Eighty-three-fucking-p. I nearly took them back and threw them at them. What the fuck is the world coming to? How long before a penny goodie costs the earth? Inflation is up 1.3% today. Were they a grab bag or did she buy them from Waitrose? Or were they poncey crisps? A bag of Walkers is around 50-60p normally, I think. I think it's remarkable that companies managed to keep cans of soft drink around the 50p mark for so many years, I expect the same will happen around the £1 mark for quite a few years- if cans are still around. Got five quids worth for my secret santa one year. Happiest i've ever been in my professional life. In response to Malbranque, i used to demolish packs of these as a kid. 10p is as much as i would like to stretch to for any treat available in newsagents. I bought my wee lad a pic n' mix bag that had maybe 6 false teeth, 11 white mice, one crunchie nougat thing and some of those pink things that look nicer than they taste and it cost me the guts of 8 quid. The first time I ever filled up a car, with diesel, I think it was about 60p a litre? Apparently everything is getting smaller - tins of chocs, soaps, that sort of thing.
