Aside from Triple H's promo it was dull as dishwater. No Funkasaurus, but that Undertaker video was shown twice, Bryan & Show had the same match they've been having for the past month again, Jericho's gone from interesting to a standard WWE feud with Punk and that Kane/Eve bit at the end was just shit. Was it just me or was Eve wearing a towel in that last segment (meaning that she'd just got out of the shower), yet she was completely bone-dry, wearing a bra and still had all her make-up on? Bizarre.

The Daniel Bryan vs Big Show was enjoyable while it lasted but the rest of Raw was the usual hit and miss show.

My point was that spoilers and read throughs are a rubbish way of gauging the quality of a wrestling programme.

And, even worst, they're a self-fulfilling prophecy because you form an opinion before watching a show and look out for vindications of you predesigned argument. Spoilers are fucking horrible.

I used to be a right cynical cunt when I read spoilers then watched the show. Since i've stopped, and started avoiding the internet in the run up to PPV's, my enjoyment level has gone through the roof. You also find yourself existing outside of the set of stock opinions that snowball thanks to the internet. You remember the Jonathan Ross/Russell Brand thing, where they had like six complaints to begin with, then thousands when the popular opinion was formed in the press? ...yeah, that's a pretty great analogy of wrestling fans these days.

There was a guy on here, who used to even refuse to read peoples reviews of PPV's before he'd posted his own to ensure he hadn't been subconsciously influenced, and they were by a mile the best reviews we used to have on this place.

FUCK SPOILERS.

Too true. I completely gave up even looking at PWTorch about 2 years ago because I realised that the disconnect between their reviews of Impact and the actual show was so immense it was making me enjoy the show less, like watching it with VITO* sat next to you or something.

Most people's opinions are based on what they read in the dirtsheets, and most dirtsheet writers are fucking retarded, so it's best to just not read any of that.

*or whoever it is that watches Raw every week and hates it, I forget.

Not a good show this week. Totally miss-able. Trips was gold for the most part. His "I know who he is, Moron" line and Johnny's reaction was quality. Nice explanation of why he wouldn't face the Undertaker. It went on too long though. Plus, I think that's the sort of segment that absolutely needs a Gene Okerlund or Vince McMahon asking the questions and probing for the answers. I think that's a big miss in WWE these days. You've got people out in the ring answering questions that no-one is asking. it doesn't feel as good. Undertaker video was OK. I didn't love it. Punk/Jericho segment worked well. Jericho's promo was weak, and daz is right, they've just pissed all the previous stuff away, but the interaction with Punk was spot on. The Cena video was great but we've seen it before. Hate the fact they have the 6 guys from the chamber in a 6 pack match 2 weeks before. No way should that ever happen. Not unless you have the 6 pack match, it becomes an unholy war and so you put them in the chamber to sort them out. The rest was so dull I can barely remember it.

Pretty naff show in my opinion. HHH was on top form, and that's coming from someone who isn't keen on him. He stands head and shoulders above nearly everyone on the roster these days though. The reasoning for turning down the match was obvious but explained really well. Undertaker video packages (both the ones HHH showed and the one with 'Taker sat in his chair) were all really poor by WWE standards if you ask me. Especially the latter which came off as a poor man's Miz's "Hate me now" promo. Jericho is shite and he's barely been there any time at all. Coming up with stupid reasons but not even putting them across as tongue in cheek, and basically throwing away all that's happened so far as "trolling". Poor form. The rest was forgettable.

Excellent post. There's some kind of mental illness involved in reading spoilers for a show and then watching it anyway. In wrestling this is doubly true, because (unless you're one of the pervs just watching for crisp armdrags) there's no excitement if you know the result already. I don't get why people do it. Some mong will give the "to see if the show's worth watching" excuse, but reading the results before you watch it automatically makes the show about 90% less worth watching anyway, so that's invalid. And SuperCena doesn't even seem to fall into that category, he was always going to watch Raw so he's only been reading the results for no reason other than making the show more boring for him.

Nargh, you've got it wrong, Pitcos.

I don't have Sky so I watch Raw when I have the chance to catch it on the laptop (my mum's not got unlimited broadband yet so I don't watch it here too often. I watch it when I take it to the girlfriend's house).

I originally read the spoilers because I figured I wouldn't have chance this week but it so happens now I do. And further to other points raised about the spoilers ruining a show; it certainly can but I wouldn't do it every week. I'll still watch this week's show if I get chance because I can form my own opinion, regardless of what I have read so far. Knowing the results hardly spoils an episode of Raw as you can pretty much guess what's going to happen the majority of the time.

Like I say, I wouldn't do it week-in, week-out or for a pay-per-view, but I do it for Smackdown or Raw if I don't think I'll have chance to later in the week.

Enjoyed the show overall, already I'm more hyped for HHH/Taker III than anything else on the mania card. But I have one question, why was Undertaker hiding out in The White Castle of Fear?

Raw was an ok watch this week, missable but had a few good moments. The Triple H vs Undertaker programme is a constructive way of putting two veterans against one another in a well built programme but I'm not anticipating the match this time around. Bryan and Show had another good outing and I never would have thought Big Show would be the perfect foil for Daniel Bryan, good stuff. The Smackdown World Heavyweight Championship match at Mania has to be a fatal four way or multi man match this year as there are too many guys on the blue brand that deserve that spot, and despite not being a big fan of the Big Show I'd like to see him involved if he isn't off with Shaquille O'Neal. I liked Jericho's rant about everybody copying him as it mirrored what he was saying on Twitter when he was away from the company and I reckon they'll incorporate social media into the WWE title feud eventually as they are doing with Cena and Rock. I'm glad that Punk didn't dignify Jericho with a response this week as it not only makes CM Punk look like the better man who doesn't need to defend himself against a whiny old vet but also meant that he didn't blow his load and repeat it all over again the following week like with the Triple H/Nash fiasco. I don't know whether it is because I was watching on my Ipad this week but it sounded like the crowd didn't care about Randy at all. I enjoyed Orton and Khali's exchanges, it was a little daft considering that Khali has no place involved in this world title chase whatsoever but Orton looked like an arrogant fucker which was a laugh and reminded me of his legacy days more than his most recent stuff. It's good to see Barrett and Rhodes getting a little Raw time and I hope that both of them move into a World Title feud after Mania. The 6 Pack challenge was decent but meant that the rest of the show was lacking a little. Jericho was the most obvious choice for the win but I'm glad as Y2J is the most well fitting guy out of the bunch to win the Title and feud with Punk going into Mania. I turned off as Eve appeared, this big red rapist stuff has certainly taken a turn for thje worst since Kane first returned.

I'll disagree with you here, but only very slightly. I cannot wait for the spectacle of Rock/Cena, though I can't imagine Undertaker/Triple H being anything less than a classic in its own right.

With the likes of Daniel Bryan, Big Show and others who I don't rate but are still solid performers (Jericho, Punk etc) all wrestling around the two World titles then this show looks to be the best 'Mania since Wrestlemania 24.

It will be an utter travesty if it isn't one of the best Wrestlemania's of the last decade.

Big Johnny is safe.

WWE’s website wrote the following this morning in regards to the John Laurinaitis storyline from RAW:

“Following John Laurinaitis’ presentation on Monday, the WWE Board of Directors has decided that the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations will remain as Interim General Manager of Monday Night Raw. "

Two hours of video packages and a dull segment with Jericho and Punk do not a good show make. One of my least favourite raws in quite a long time.

Have to agree with Butch on this one outside of the opening segment piss all interested me this week and I am already sick of them Cena videos and his feud with Kane is a load of wank.

Also I'm already getting bored of Daniel Bryan's Title reign.
Insert shit sig here.

They are going to test everyone's patience if they plan on running the Cena and Rock videos every week.

It definitely wasn't a great show overall but there were a couple of great segments. The Triple H promo was great and I'm looking forward to seeing HBK get involved in the feud next week. The Jericho promo was good, though the explanation for his silence was a bit shit. Other than that, the fact that they had six of the top stars in the main event meant that there was a lot of filler with them repeating video packages and the like.
