Ok so the fact I haven't BEEN to Tottenham means that I'm not entitled to have my opinion on it? You might want to think about reforming government since I'm pretty sure the Prime Minister hasn't been to my street.

These areas that police are SCARED to enter are mostly bullshit anyway. I worked as a CSO in an estate that apparently was so dangerous no one ever went there. Utter bollocks. Just no one took the time to engage with the people there and find out what their problems were. I'm pretty sure Tottenham is not much different.

I lived there for over 20 years, i work in a betting shop which is often the centre of where these scum hang out. Your not pretty sure of anything, your just another wanker on the internet spouting bollocks because he can.

No your not entitled to an opinion as the Prime minister unlike you has access to a load of information and can talk to people who live and work in these areas.

Stopping and searching every black/asian kid (which if we're honest, is who are disproportinately stopped by the police) you see does not help the gun/knife problem. It just causes racial tensions and general mistrust between the community and the police...

I think Magnum's description of people as scum pretty much sums up a wider problem as well. If you see certain groups of people as scum and treat them as such - why do you expect then expect them to behave in a manner that matches your values...

It also works the other way. If you identify yourself as a thug or gangster and dress accordingly then it can't come as a massive surprise that the police might look at you.

Or maybe because of a lack of connection with youths the police believe their clothes to suggest 'thug' or 'gangster' when really it's just 'a kid with his hood up'. And he's entitled to do that without being harassed.

You can call me a wanker all you want mate. But I guarantee you that going around calling people wankers or scum won't save your area. And it's got nothing to do with the internet. I'd state my opinions to you in person.

Utterly clueless...

Explain how then...

Every post i've made in this thread should explain it to you but your so set on your agenda you have ignored the fact that unlike you i have lived and worked there for half my life, unlike you i still know people who live and work there.

It has everything to do with the internet as you would never meet someone from Tottenham in person so from your un burnt home you can spout all the conspiracy theories you like.

When your friend has had sawn off shot guns pointed at his head whilst the fella goes stay down ash, note he knew his name as the prick went into the shop every day, when your friends have been chased out of their jobs by gangs of large teenagers after witnessing people being stabbed in the head over some loose change, after being punched and watching kids as young as 14 pull knives out on the police. When you have lived in Tottenham and had to meet your girlfriend at her car as you were both scared to walk the 50 yards back to your house as the chances of you getting mugged are stupidly high, when you have been to my area as you put it, lived in it, experienced what the mentality is, then after all that i'll happily let you come on the internet and spout bollocks.

A few years ago West Ham fans arrived in Tottenham at one in the afternoon about 7 hours before a game. They smashed up a pub and some other stuff. People laughed at how pathetic it was but at the time i worked in a William Hill right next to the Spurs ground. The next day the amount of terrified old people i had coming in was so sad.

I have views on this that will make me sound like a daily mail reader but i lived in the area for over 20 years. The carpet right that was destroyed was 2 minutes from my old family home, i worked in the William hill that Sky are reporting in front of so i think i have a pretty good grasp of whats going on.

This isn't the police's fault it's a product of an area that is so rough that many times the police are scared to be there, it's a product of it being filled with kids who have no respect for human life and for years now having been getting away with it

I agree completely with all your posts spurs 4 life, particularly the bit in bold, and when these punks are chased and confronted they start moaning about how the police is 'out to get dem'. I have no sympathy for these fuckers who are out to deliberately cause trouble and whilst doing it raid their local JD sports and smash shit up.

This shooting from Thursday is now in the hands of the IPCC, the Police are banned from discussing it and so are the IPCC until the investigation is completed.
I don't have anything against the (peaceful) protesting but it seems to me looking at some of those giving interviews they didn't understand the concept that an investigation is required and being conducted and there won't be any official answers for a month or so which in turn leads to them feeling they aren't being listened to which in turn give those looking for trouble the spark to vent out their 'frustration' which leads to shit kicking off.

The Police can't win either way.

I'm not disputing the fact that shit stuff happens there. I'm saying that there are better ways of dealing with it. I haven't got a set agenda - apart from wanting to see people working together more and less hatred.

If you had met the little fuckers who did this you would know that working closer with them isn't an option.

These little shits have absolutely no intention of working together with the Police or their community, they are out for themselves and their mates and will run over anyone in their way.

These people are complete thugs and criminals and no amount of youth centres or community meetings will ever solve these issues. They will always be out to make life shit for everyone else.

As a black or asian person you're seven times for likely to be stopped and searched.

http://www.guardian....d-search-police

I didn't ask who was more likely to be stopped.

What criteria should be used for stop and search?

These eyes are the eyes of the old

You've asked two different questions now. In terms of stop/search criteria I suggest you look it up yourself - I'm sure it'll be available online.

No that's right, because they're scum incapable of communicating with other people. Silly me, I'll get back in line.
