Shoot interviews

I just finished watching King Kong Bundy's shoot interview on youtube, and he was quite funny. He justified burying the likes of Honky Tonk Man and Jake Roberts buy saying "I see them all the time anyway, and if they have a problem what are they going to do?" Great attitude to have. I know we've had about a thousand of these threads over the years, but I just love having a discussion about Ole Anderson going batshit at people. He's great.

Whats your favourites?

Ole Anderson's obvious dislike of RF is a joy to behold. Kevin Kelly's is quite fun, but I have to recommend Brad Armstrongs. He's one funny fucker.

Also, credit goes to Bob Holly, who comes off as a really sound bloke. Same for his youshoot, and makes the "BUT HE'S A BULLY!!!" brigade look like spackers by comparison. How do I like him now? Quite a bit, actually.

off the top of my head..

Bam Bam's think it was the first i saw, then i was hooked. Its a great shoot.

Randomly, The godfathers, i like the fact that he is a big fan and has good memories about everyone (maybe bar steve richards), but has a lot of happy memories and looks like hs is happy with his life.

Found it interesting that he was going to be Kane, but then when he turned up, they put the Kama gimmick on him instead.. funny shit

Kama debuted about two or three years before Kane, though. Or was it that he was meant to be Kane and then they just kept him as Kama and put him in the Nation?

Just watching the Van Hammer shoot. He's incredibly humble, self-depricating and grateful for his career, which is a nice surprise. Those shoots where the guys turn out to be just nice, rather than the usual stories about shitting in people's mouths while they were sleeping in a van for a rib are great too. The Bushwhackers and Powers of Pain shoots are good examples. Warlord was always my yearly deadpool pick, but after seeing his shoot, I'll be very sad when he does die from an enlarged heart.

He left in early 96/late 95 under the supreme fighting machine gimmick, apparently Taker had wanted him to be given the Kane gimmick. He'd gone back to the strip club business and working for USWA I think before they called him back as Kama in the Nation, bout Apr/May 97, roughly the same time as Kane was being referenced to on tv by Paul Bearer, so its feasible.

Warlord seems sound as fuck as well. I love the shoots when people come across as lovely to go for a pint with. I'd rather sink one with Holly and Warlord than Londrick all day.

Very true.

Lanny 'Genius' Poffo one is my favourite for that very reason. He just seems a thoroughly decent person and it was a really insightful watch which would still have appealed if he had nothing to do with wrestling.

More recently the D'Lo Brown and Headbanger Mosher shoots go a similar way. Both guys seemed to realise they hit the big time at probably the most lucrative spell in wrestling history in terms of exposure and the financial rewards that came with it and were very thankful for the opportunity and the money they came with it. Marc Mero was another recent one i saw which fell into this category despite me initially thinking he'd be a tool he came across very well. Also refreshing to hear guys like this who seem to be at peace with themselves realising that was a great chapter in their life which is now over and have moved onto doing new things with their health intact and who have been smart saving their money as opposed to some bitter old guy cursing out everyone and/or hanging on every word so as not to step on any toes or jeapordise any chance of getting re-hired.
