Alright... After talking about it in a couple of other topics I figure it's finally time to give the UKFF's 360 owners what they need. A whole thread that's going to survive all of the others for all of our gaming needs.

In here we can list the games we have and the games we want - swap tips and advice on how to improve our gamerscores - discuss whether gamerscores are even important or not - and even hook-up for online games.

I'll start! My gamertag's easy to remember as it's the same as my UKFF username. "Sichadelic".

I got my xbox 360 a few days ago. Having a lot of fun on Fifa 2006 and Burnout revenge.

Not playing online yet. Dunno if I will, coz Im notoriously rubbish at all video games no matter how much I enjoy playing them.

I don't need to seel my PS2 or my Xbox anymore as I have now got £400 for my Xbox 360 needs.

I only recently got my 360. I have Fight Night 3, which is incredible and Hitman Blood Money. Need to go out and get a couple of new games, especially ones suited for live play. I tried fight night on live, but wasn't too impressed.

Gamestation are doing a decent price pack where you get xbox premium pack and 2 games for £340 and if you ask nicely like i did you may get discount if you spend more.

Do you get a years free subscription with a Premium pack?

I was told that you did but I thought it was highly unlikely.

The deal I got didn't give any free subscription. It might have gave a free silver membership (haven't looked into it but don't need to). Silver membership is pretty damn useless as it doesent allow you to play games online. All I had to do was transfer the ethernet cable from my wireless reciever from my Xbox to my Xbox360 and recover the gamer tag at no extra cost (for once). It's £40 or so for a years gold subscription (at least I think thats what Im paying)

Whats the pointof having Xbox Live if you can't play games with it?

Silver is like...a sample version. It lets you on xbox live market place and construct a friends list, thats about it. If you want to play on Live youll have to get the Gold membership. That's microshaft for ya.

How much is the gold membership?

Is it just the same £5 p/m like the last Xbox?

You can get a gold Xbox live membership for the 360 on a monthly basis - but it works out far cheaper paying by the year - £40 per year. It's also worth noting that this is for each gamer-tag - not for each console, which I thought was a bit unfair.

And for whoever asked what the point of being online if you can't play games.... We're not talking Xbox or PS2 here. I'm sure you'll find this out soon enough when you buy your console, but unlike the previous generation of consoles there's a whole live marketplace of stuff to enjoy. Without a gold membership you can download new game trailers and playable demos before they even hit the shops (Thus making the discs that come with magazines pretty much defunct) - and download songs, movies, and updates for the games that you have. As far as I know all of that is free with a silver membership - which everybody can get. You also get 30 days free on Gold as a trial offer - so remember that before you go spending your £40.

I've never played console games online before, but I have to note that GRAW and PGR3 online blow my mind.

Dazz.... you're about the only guy I know who has the hockey game. Add me and we'll have a match sometime! I find it difficult to connect online sometimes with that....


Also - who has Oblivion? Game have a trade-in price of £27 for Fight Night this week which I thought was do-able - and I'm considering getting Elder Scrolls IV when I trade it in. Does everybody that has it think it's as good as people say it is? I'm watched the online trailers - a shame there's no playable demo.

Obivion is extremely good but be prepared to devote a fair chunk of your life to it.

I have Table Tennis, Oblivion, Tomb Raider Legend and the hideously overrated Hitman: Blood Money, but I'm currently spending most of my games time playing Geometry Wars and online Halo 2. If you haven't played Geometry Wars, download the free demo from the Live Arcade immediately.

My 360 also gets a lot of use as a music player. Setting up music streaming from your PC is an absolute dawdle and works equally well wired or wireless. I hear great things about video streaming too, but that needs your PC to have Windows Media Centre Edition and I don't fancy reinstalling at the moment. Being a huge geek, I've just written software to generate RSS channels so that my PSP can stream music from my PC as well.

Played on xbox live for the first time today. You get a years silver membership free, as well as a free trial month on gold.

I played burnout and fifa RTTFWC. Had one match on Fifa and won 1-0 after having virtually no possetion for the whole game. And was soundly thrashed by everybody on burnout. God Im awful at that game!

I got an Xbox 360 premium pack with Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Prey for £318.

I also got the table tennis for £20 as it was deal of the week.

So I have £60 left. I think that will go towards spending money for my trip to Manchester later this year.

Does anyone know - if you delete a game from your history on your profile if you no longer have the game - do the acheivement points for that game stay, or are they deleted too?

I just traded Fight Night in, and I don't want to delete it from my harddrive and end up losing 1,000 points on my gamerscore.....

I just got a 360 yesterday well impressed! i downloaded frogger from the arcade section and have been playing people online all day, also got Ghost Recon and its amazing! if anyone is up for playing online let me know, cant wait for street fighter 2 to go online in a few weeks that will be amazing!!

Can anyone reccommend any games?

I have Prey, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Table Tennis.

Don't worry about it as deleting your saves won't affect your gamerscore at all.

As for the 360 I used to play it pretty much all the time (as my 19000 gamerscore would suggest) but I kind of burned myself out. Having said that I did seriously enjoy games like Oblivion, NFSMW, Tomb Raider and the online part of Perfect Dark Zero.

I'm hoping to get back into it though with the purchases of Prey and Over G, but it's future games like Dead Rising, Gears of War, Smackdown vs Raw 07, Saints Row and Halo 3 I'm really looking forward to.

Condemned is wicked, but a lot of people aint all that impressed with it aparantly.

Besides that i am little pissed off as currently annoyed as my second controllers batterys keep running out and i have to replace them, gonna pic up another controller now.

That's what you need right there. It basically does what the title suggests - it charges your controller and lets you use it while its charging. It'll save you money in the long term rather than having to keep getting new batteries.

360=biggest let down in video gaming history (from my own personal experience obviously) Would someone like to tell me what about the 360 makes it worth getting if you already have a PS2/xbox etc ?

Alright.. I don't normally even like RPGs, but I've just spend a couple days straight playing Oblivion, and I just gotta say...

DAMN! Such a cool game! I expect if I owned it though, it would suck me in completely and I would just live my life there instead of the real world.

Graphics are awesome too, and the game is SO smooth...

couldnt you get xbox live arcade with the original xbox? regardless of that, what on there do you want? sonic? street fighter? all great games, but at an overcharged price, delayed release etc when you can get them for free now? no thanks.

Next two points you made are kind of the same, basically dropping numbers on old consoles online, as opposed to the next gen, well dur. To be honest if you liked online gaming that much surely you would have stuck with a gaming PC through the years? which is what these new consoles are meant to be and by the time you have got a new TV, sound etc for this HD stuff, a gaming computer is a much better option giving more value for money and more people online, better graphics etc.

the market place is a rip off, sorry, i mean its really nothing revolutionary either, you can download demos? neat, but you can do that with PC and simply get demo discs for others. Trailers? ditto once again. Its all just slapped into a nice layout. They charge for pictures damnit, seriously!?

the novelty? the novelty lasted about 2 weeks for me, i enjoyed all the features you did...they quite simply arent enough, it didnt give me as much enjoyment as any of my other consoles do and it is quite simply NOT: A-worth the money and B-not next gen, its like this gen .5

Now im not flaming or anything, its just my sheer frustration from experience, i really went for it, gave the console a go for a good month or 2 with a variation of games (as you can tell from my gamertag), quite simply not good enough.

I bought Prey yesterday. Not bad game but I'm nearly finished the one player stuff and online is laggy as hell, so I'm thinking of swapping it for Oblivion: Elder Scrolls.

Is Oblivion as good as everyone says it is? I'm not a big RPGs, is it easy to get into?

Anyone know what the deal is with backward compatability. I tried PGR2 on my 360 and it said this xbox game is not compatable but there may be an update available. Is that just MSs way of saying theres no backward compatibility, or do some games work?

does xbox live keep a record of all the games you have played online? id it does, does it show this to everyone or just you?

If it's all four lights lit up red it means the AV cables not properly connected so try taking it out and putting it back in again on both the console and tv.

Yes and it's public so anyone can view it. For instance, go to xbox.com, sign in with your hotmail/msn address (top right of xbox.com) and view friends. By clicking a friend it tells you their current status, most recent games played (up to 5 or 6 i think) and achievements gained so you can compare your achievements to your friends.
