MLB 2K11 is brilliant fun. Actually has the live games from today so you can play something that's happening today. I crushed the Yankees with the mighty Blue Jays partly due to a three run homer from Jose. The only bad thing is I doubt I'll play The Bigs 2 too much now.

Is anyone playing Dead Island? I've been really enjoying it, although I'm at the start of Act 3 now and it's beginning to drag a bit. After reaching about level 10 all the enemies seemed to become really hard to deal with, and there's some ridiculous re-spawning points here and there which can mean you just get constantly swamped by zombies with no way out. I haven't hit any of the bugs or glitches that I keep reading about online though, so I don't know if I've just got lucky or if they were fixed in the patch that came out last week. I'll give it a rest before going back to finish the last third of the game because I've sort of had enough for now. Plus...

Just been to pick up GOW3, and was surprised to find a code for 400 free Microsoft points on the till receipt. Thanks GAME! I was going to buy some points this afternoon to top up my balance for the new Fallout DLC that's just come out, so that was a nice little bonus. The rest of my day is pretty much sorted now!

Oh yeah - and the Resident Evil 4 HD "remake" is out today as well. £14.99 in the "games on demand" section of the Marketplace. It supposedly doesn't look that great (like an upscaled PS2 game rather than actual remastered graphics, apparently) but it's still one of the best games ever so it'll be getting bought at some point I'm sure.

I just finnished Dead Island yesterday evening. It's a good game, but ultimately flawed. The story is non-existant and it's grapically choppy, especially in cut scenes. Just seems like on the whole it needs more polish. The core of the game is very fun though and the RPG elements are good. There's also a wealth of content, even if a lot of the side missions are fetch quests which get a little tedious. It's well worth playing, but I wouldn't recommend going and splashing 40 big ones on it right now with the plethora of top titles right around the corner. It seems to have done pretty well sales wise though, so it'll be interesting to see where the developer takes it from here.

I'm looking forward to getting stuck into Gears 3 tonight. I actually went to the midnight launch at a local GAME last night. I wasn't planning on it but by the time I'd finished Dead Island it was getting on for 11:30 so I thought I might as well. What I didn't account for is people weren't just in and out buying the game, but they were getting all the Gears of War Consoles, limited editions, strategy guides, limited edition strategy guides, t shirts, headsets, yoyo's, hats, bananas etc. Also people trading stuff in, rather than have done it before hand and had the store credit ready to go. It took fucking ages and in the end I only got to play about half hour of the campaign and a few TDM's online. Seems great so far though. I got 800 free Microsoft points as well for being at the launch and some bonus multiplayer skins.

Just a question about sky player on the 360 for all of those who use it.

Basically I want to watch ESPN on sky player on the 360. I use my misses granparents accounts since they agreed with could, on sky player we have every channel on there bar ESPN, if i purchase ESPN on sky would it enable me to watch it on sky player on the 360?

Xbox 360 games are region locked at the publisher's discretion. E.g. NTSC Backbreaker works fine on my 360 , but NCAA Football by EA Sports won't work and it doesn't receive a UK release

I'm having a bugger of a time trying to join Horde or Beast mode games on GOW3 - it just sits there for ages and then says no matches could be found, even though there's loads of people playing. The only way I can get into either game is by joining someone from my friends list if anyone happens to be playing. Is this happening with anyone else? For all the talk of dedicated servers it's certainly proving to be a right pain in the arse to get going!

Just come off the new F1 Game yes I went to asda and bought it at 00:01am.

Its 50/50, codemasters have added and taken away some of the bits from the previous game which made it good.

The Good
- Kers system (Boost system, resets after every lap)
- Everythings brighter, in 2010's game its was very dark game low contrast, it came across as it was going to rain every lap now it doesnt)
- DRS, works very well and tells you off for being a spaz when you try using it constantly (IE on corners)
- Reduce number of laps for a career race (can choose 3 laps minimum now)
- Even Easier for beginners the amateur AI lets the most rookie of players win a race.
- SAFETY CAR
- After the race you are shown with your visor up celebrating when you park your car after thw in or apologising to your boss in the pits why you wrecked the car. something new eh.

The Bad
- Graphics, they look more pixelated and low quality, the helmets, team logos in the cockpits look god awful someone on a psone game. Maybe its designed more for the PC than 360?
- Your team, last time a Robson Green like voice was there to great you and was over the moon when you got pole now your team are dull as fuck.
- Less Strict flags, ive skiped corner after corner and no warning I get the odd warning.
- The cars more LOOSE, this might be a good thing for most people coming into the game but I loved the previous game I got use to the stiffness of the cars and having to get at that right speed for the corner. that feel is still there but not as much.
- End of race situations, when you won in the top 3 you got to go to the press confrence, not anymore.
- Skipping sessions, within the cockpit of a race you use to be able to skip a practise session of just end it quickly if you wanted going to the next session now you have to draw it out or just fast forward time.
- Damage, some how rolled a car NOTHING, slid it into some walls barely nothing or a little nick.
- Control assist, its there you can feel it and now you cant turn the FUCKER off. This might be just for the first race in career felt slightly different after my second race.
- Loading Times, seem to have gotten longer and my copy for some reason jumps a little when your leaving the pit lane coming from the cockpit in qualifying or practise.
- Really wanted podium celebration with the champers even with the helmet on it could be done.

Sorry to be so negative, I thought they would really hit this one bang on. Im still gunna play the smegger its still fun just an occasional sigh at times.

ajmcstyles, have they fixed the bug with pitstops? In the 2010 version, if you came into the pits on the same lap as everyone else, you'd always end up at the back as your pit crew wouldn't let you out if anyone was in the pit lane. Meant you had to always change your pitstop strategy to be different from everyone else.

I havent had a 20% race of yet, only 3 lap races so no pit stops were required. Ill give it another go tonight with a 20% race

I can understand to a point as it probably wouldn't sell enough to cover the pressing. However, with that being said why region lock it to prevent the few UK people who would enjoy it being unable to play it on import.

Well I tried another race today with 20% laps. Well hamilton and webber both pulled in at the same time and we all got in me first then hamilton then webber and we all left in the same formation no glitches.

Still some issues with skipping track, I cut a huge chunk of track nothing I cut a tiny piece of track warning.

Had some issues with the DRS works fine in practise and qualifying but in the race it would only let me enable it on the final lap 11th lap of the chinese GP.

Still my team is dull as fuck and the sound track aint great, it was like the UFC 2009 Soundtrack to the UFC 2010 sound track DULL.

Another thing thats been bugging me with alot of recent titles that I have to install them to get games up to an acceptable speed. IE on BFBC2 the loading times are a joke with out installation or F1 2011 theres a reduce in the frame rate when exitting the pits on a D&R test yet when I installed it no drop in the frame rate. It seems all the recent releases need installing good job i got a 120gb HDD, those fuckers are going for peanuts now a days.

Also wheres supremecy MMA demo on the marketplace?

I'm curious to see IGN, Gamespot and GameCentral's reviews, particularly the latter who only give out high scores when they are deserved.

IGN will score it very highly, they've been previewing it extensively throughout the build and have nothing but good things to say about it, especially the Riddler challenges.

I expect a high score from IGN (I've followed the previews on the site) and other sites judging by the scores so far. Batman: Arkham Asylum was terrific and this sounds it as well.

If its as fun as Arkham Asylum then it'll be great.

Anyone got RAGE? Is it like Fallout at all? Can you free roam & create your own character?

Yes, no and no. The only real similarity with Fallout is the wasteland setting - gameplay-wise it's closer to Borderlands than anything else, only with the RPG levelling up stuff taken out. There's no character creation apart from choosing what armour you want to wear when you get to the first main "town".

Anyone picked up Dark Souls and how much is it going for? I want it but as close to the £30 mark as possible.

Although you can free roam and wander around as much as you want. Might be a pain in the arse with the disc-swapping though if you go too far.

It's not a bad game, but I'm now 4 hours in and it's already feeling a bit repetitive. So far all the missions have been variations of "take this letter to the next town and bring the supplies back" which is wearing a bit thin these days. In lots of games I mean, not just this one.

Anyone else picked up Dark Souls? I put in a couple of hours, and I can tell its going to be a game I won't be able to put down for months. Its the type of game that will repeatly kick you in the balls, but you just keep on coming back. Absolutely fantastic so far

Started playing it this morning and I can see it being a time eater, hard as nails and makes no apologies for it. Now I just need to find the time for it to eat. Rage, Crysis, Space Marine, Deus Ex and the Portal 2 DLC to get through too. Then all that gets put aside for Arkham City in a couple of weeks or so. 2-3 hours of gaming a week is just not enough
