Yeah, it doesn't come up nearly often enough and there are a couple of medals I need from it. They did a great Infection double EXP thing a while back with Foundry turned into a giant haunted house looking thing, that was terrific. I have "Zombie Killing spree" but I haven't got Hell's Janitor or the various sprees you get as a zombie.

Harvey Dent
Infection is awesome, but I've never had it in a playlist, only a custom game.
JLM
It occasionally comes up in Rumble Pit and has been on the Double EXP weekend playlists on two occasions. That's it as far as I know.

I've just got back from a weekend away with a bunch of mates and we system-linked two consoles and played 8-man Infection, tweaking it to give zombies the ability to use vehicles. Much hilarity ensued.
JLM
When it was on the Playlist they had one set up on Snowbound so that the Zombies (Elites with swords in a funky colour) were permanently cloaked, and they made it so the motion sensor dots were absolutely tiny. They also only seemed to reveal themselves when they were hit directly, grenade splash damage didn't make them flash up.

Being out in the snow and seeing footprints churning up the snow and spinning wildly with your shotgun in an attempt to save yourself was genuinely frightening stuff. Loved it.

Also "Braaaiiiinnns..." on Rat's nest, where the zombies could be killed with magnum headshots but were otherwise tough as hell.

Speaking of headshots, I'm fully addicted to SWAT at the moment. Brrr, brr, brr, TRIPLE KILL. BR = Awesome. SHWATguns is absolutely absurd though, especially on Cold SWATage.
mattshutter
I only recently got Halo 3 and barely played it online (like literally 5-10 matches).

Do I need to 'level up' before I can play these kinda games?
JLM
Nah, your skill level won't stop you playing on any of the playlists, it just varies as to what comes up on the rotation. For instance, if you play "lone wolves", you might get three games where it's a simple "First to 25 kills wins", then the next game might be "oddball" where you have to hold onto a skull for a certain amount of time to win. Over time you'll play most things, but games like Juggernaught and Infection come up quite rarely on the online playlists.

The only thing that'll stop you playing certain playlists is the map packs. If you don't have the Heroic map pack you can't play ranked Team Slayer, if you con't have the Legendary pack you can't play SWAT and possibly one or two other things.

Just as in Japan and America, Microsoft has announced some major pre-Christmas price cuts for the Xbox 360.

The hard drive-less Arcade bundle will drop to £129.99 – well below the Wii's current price of £179.99.

The Premium model (with a 60GB hard drive) is also cheaper at £169.99, while the 120GB Elite at £229.99 undercuts the PS3's £299.99. The changes come into effect this Friday.

Fantastic news. I'm buying my lad the Arcade for Xmas.

Go with the Harddrive version, it's a lot less mucking about, and you shouldn't have to worry about space........

He won't need it tbh. He'll only be playing games on it and he won't be set up on live until we can afford to get him the wireless adaptor.

Yeah, but once you ARE set up on live, the HD will be essential, and then you'll have to save for that too.

Trust me dude, it may be a little more expensive, but I'd get a premium straight away.
JLM
I have to agree. The difference is only £40 and the standalone hard drive will be more than that for a while, so if you then get him the (ludicrously overpriced) wireless adapter and then need the hard drive, you'll end up spending more. They do like to charge for their add-ons and accessories.

"Come on Stevie-baby. Buy the Premium. I'll make it worth your whiiiiille wink.gif"

Frank, you don't have the HD do you? Do you think it's essential for playing live? I know you can't DL additional maps and stuff on Halo but your still able to save game data on the memory card can't you?

I'm not discrediting your opions (MRMIdAS & JLM), but if all he's going to be doing is saving game data and playing live then the £40 I'll be saving could go towards his wireless adaptor. If I could afford it I would buy the Elite for myself and give him my Premium. Money is quite precious at the moment.
frank
I don't have a hard drive no, I don't really need one tbh. A memory card will be fine for saving profiles and game saves to.

My live is back now btw, PANIC OVER BOYS,

you need a hard drive to play on live though. If its any help, I saw a preowned wireless adapter in Blockbusters for £29.99, by far the cheapest I've seen it anywhere.
JLM
Damn, I've never seen one close to that cheap. I couldn't imagine having my 360 without the hard drive, both for the map packs and expansions mentioned earlier and for the the game demos and the amazing XBLA games.

You don't need a HD for live Andy, just ask frank. My lads only 11, he won't be bothered about additional maps, especially considering you have to pay for them. My boy don't like to part with his money. I think he may be Jewish.

I have an elite. I paid £330 for an elite ,2 games and an extra controller (and a live pack thing).

It's almost £100 cheaper now.

DOH!!!

I love my Elite though. I love it far too much. I clean it regularly and occasionally talk to it. Only to say what a good job he is doing.

2 years ago I got my premium with Saints Row for £210, almost £100 cheaper than it should've been.

It doesnt suck as bad as when I bought my PS3, for the console and extra controller, 1 game, HDMI cable and a controller adapter I was pushing 500 notes, this was at launch though and since then Metal Gear came out and made it all worthwhile.

I was always under the impression you needed a HDD for live, I have been misinformed. Or maybe I was just not really paying attention. Both totally possible.

I had a £10 gift voucher to use up from Zavvi, so I bought Rainbow Six Vegas. I really wanted Vegas 2 but I'm sure this is a good game. Haven't played it yet. What's it like guys?

It was my thoughts initially too, until frank proved otherwise.

Anyone here played The Darkness?

I have a great gaming PC, and I was amazed to pay £7 for this in GAME (it came out over a year ago), and it is by far the most visually amazing things I've ever seen. The game looks stunningly beautiful for the 360. I would even go as far as say it looks way better than GTA4 and Bioshock, even though it came out before them.

Anyone into horror FPS's should really get this one.

Rainbow Six Vegas is a very good game, both single and multiplayer. I personally don't like the frantic fast paced action of call of duty 4, and so prefer the slow methodical pace of games like R6.

Personally I think R6 is better than Vegas 2. If you do a co-op story mode, you can have 4 players along with you doing it, and it makes it very fun indeed to be playing with real people as opposed to sometime dodgy AI characters. On Vegas 2 Bizarrely they took out 4 player co-op instead only letting you play with 1 friend and 2 AI characters.

Terrorist hunts are very very addictive, and I think the multiplayer maps are better on Rainbow 6.

So Rainbow6 is an excellent game, and i think like the majority of people when you eventually play vegas 2 you'll find it very underwhelming and disappointing compared to the first

It was £7 for the 360. However I bought it pre-owned, but I see it going for £10 new sometimes. It was in the Stockport branch, and considering you live near me, I guess it's not an impossibility you'll visit the same store.

Really loved that game. It was the first FPS that I actually enjoyed. Multiplayer was superb.Quite dated now though seeing as it came out on the PC in 2005. Wait towards the end of year for the new one. Looks good.
JLM
I have The Darkness but I've only played the first few stages. Was enjoying it quite a bit but, as with so many games, it's fallen by the wayside because I don't get enough chances to play single-player games and so have to prioritise absolutely essential titles above the mere "very good" ones.

Memories of it include using the funky Darkness powers for the first time and removing some hearts, the surprisingly well acted and immersive set-pieces including a tender moment with the missus and the first time I encountered an enemy goon at close range. The latter was memorable because, instead of pistol whipping him or doing some other kind of close-range striking attack, my character put the gun in the poor bastard's [i]mouth[/b] before dispatching him. Also had a moment where I snuck up behind a guy unnoticed, setting up a Manhunt-esque stealth kill involving two lightning-fast shots to the back of the knees and then one in the head.

Fun stuff.

Agreed. Amazing game, play it with the lights off late at night and Bob's your uncle.

The Darkness is a one trick pony and once you get over that trick it is rather mundane, it also has some of the clunkiest controls I've seen on a console FPS.

Yeah I got that bit. Wondered if it was something that some clever bod could do from home. What is it that actually goes wrong? What needs replacing/ repairing?

Just started playing Vegas and fuck me, talk about throw you in at the deep end. No tutorial or anything. I'm on the first mission and I've reached the church roof, where I'm supposed to get my team mates to kick arse and I'm supposed to be healing them when they are shot. Wank.

It's an ace idea, it's just any game where you get shot while you're behind cover, then your computer controlled friend who is right next to you, DRAGS YOU FROM COVER TO HEAL YOU is a total bag of wank IMO.

Even worse, you've got to get up onto something, you give your friend a boost, and, before he dangles his hand down to pull you up, he gets shot.

You're fucked, you can't heal him, because he's too high up, and you can't get to him, BECAUSE HE'S FUCKING DEAD!

Heard about that kid, what a fag. Theres some good songs as you get further down the setlist there. I'll be picking it up. Comfortably Numb = Win. Guitar battle against Sting is pretty lame though and of all the Aerosmith songs they pick the one with hardly any guitar in it. Rock Band 2 on the whole has a better tracklist, but this one isnt bad.

I downloaded the burnout paradise bikes update last night. Great fun, although somewhat unrealistic tongue.gif
Andy Shoes
Fuckin' hell that Guitar Hero setlist is awesome! 'Master of Puppets'?!?

Finally some CKY as well. I wouldn't have chosen '96 Quite Bitter Beings', but it's still an alright song...

On the subject of Rock Band, check out the drums for 'Battery' by Metallica:

Insanity

I can't wait to play it laugh.gif

as much as I wish that GH4 setlist was legit, im pretty sure thats a fake, real list can be found here on the official press release

Guitar Hero Setlist

That fake one would be incredible though, Johnny B. Goode and Master of Puppets are 2 that I have always wanted to play (without resorting to modding)
Harvey Dent
how do people go about putting whatever songs they like on guitar hero? Ive seen several vids on youtube of people playing songs that arent in the game

and that "actual" setlist isnt great at all. That said. Trapped Under fuckin Ice

you have to mod your console for it unfortunatly (which is why i have never done it) and then you can use a bit of software to do it pretty easily.

as for the setlist, I didnt say it was good.....in fact I think its pretty mediocre, but unfortunatly im pretty sure its the real one. If it wasnt for the chance to play Beat it on guitar and La Bamba as a band I probably wouldnt be considering it.

*edit* actually, add Mr Crowley to that list. Hope we got some Ozzy DLC for Rock Band soon.

Could anyone cut and paste the legit list for me? Games website are filtered for me here at work.

Save up some attacks, wait till he gets to a complicated bit where you have little/nothing to do, then let him have it!
