Two stand out a mile tomorrow in Palace draw/no bet @ 2/1 and, more so, Barnsley 21/20 at home to Ipswich although it's a dinner time kick off so maybe a no-go unless you are rolling on winnings from the 3pm's as nothing worse than blowing a bet on the later/earlier matches.

A big betting/Racing story this afternoon after Voler La Vadette won the 2:00 at Leopardstown, either some sort of glitch with Betfairs bots or another trader meant the horse had £21m available to match at 28/1 right up until it crossed the finishing line. Betfair are investigating and haven't paid out or voided the market. Presumably they are combing their rules to see if they can get away with not paying out. Either way it could be a big news story in the morning given punters are set to lose out on £45m of winnings if they dont pay out.

Its more than that. There was 21m to bet @ 29, meaning that in effect someone had a liabilty of 600million. Utterly mental. Must have been a technical glitch, as I can't imagine there are many people with that kind of dough in their accounts.

Some people on BF have unlimited credit, guys like JP McManus and Michael Tabor, that was what the original belief was at the time that some had made a cock up.

The fact BFs first statement said "This isn't a Betfair issue" makes me believe that they'll have to pay out, as it evidently is a BF issue, despite their TandCs giving their basic out.

Well they have now refused to pay out and have voided all bets placed after the off. Gonna complain to them tomorrow but not a chance they will reverse their decision and payout unless they get a lot of negative press from it, they lost an awful lot of value from their shares after 2pm today.

Aye, but in a similar way to the BetFair Poker SnG scam, the pressure on themselves, the Gaming Commission and other regulators is what will cause them to pay out. I know of a guy who has just over £7k out there dead on this, he's talking to others who took it, and they've got lawyers on it already, I personally see this taking 18 months or so atleast, but it will for sure have it's day. The BF stock is IMO overinflated anyway as they're one of the worst companies to deal with for customer service and software IMO. Their stock will continue to plummet when this hits the press that their are 2 groups of big guys on the horses world with lawyers working already.

I dunno ive worked in the gambling industry long enough to know that Terms and Conditions are so water tight now that they can get a bookie out of any kind of error these days. I agree it wont be going away though, too many people have had their fingers burnt for substantial amounts and the reason given about an incorrect exposure limit being breached just adds to the argument as it makes it a betfair mistake as its them that are responsible for credit limits and not the punters backing and laying on their exchange, meaning they should technically have to payout from their own pocket.

It's not even that it's so many, it's the people. I've been reading stuff on some forums, from the top tippers in the country, up to the biggest stable owners and backers that they're all feeling this one is outrageous and it a liability is on BF. This is a very crucial time for the UK Horse Betting scene (as I'm sure most of us in here are aware), and today might just set out a time where they either gain credibility or blow it, and it's all on BFs shoulders right now.

I'll probably take Everton away to Wigan and Newcastle at home to Villa at 6/5. The only thing holding me back is Villa seem to have performed well in their past two games, so I'll approach it with caution. Depending on how I do tomorrow, I might be backing United at 7/4 on Sunday. All things point to a Man U win, apart from the simple thing of not being able to beat them at Stamford bridge. By lunch tomorrow I'll probably talk myself out of all of this so that I can just concentrate on doing a Superbowl bet on Sunday night.

I'd be weary of Newcastle if Tiote isn't back as they were badly exposed last time both he and Cabaye didn't play through the middle together against Fulham.
