I finally finished watching Transformers: Super God Masterforce the other day. On the whole a very good series, even though the english dubbing was awful, will admit found the ending to the series really dissapointing. If only took an extra minute or two to explain why the Transformers and humans seperated and how the transformers gained self awareness (in this series the transformers were just vehicles that the humans controlled when they combined).
Transformers: Zone, which is the rarest of the Transformer cartoons to find and the last from the original series ever released. Finally found it to download few days ago, and it lives upto the hype of being excellent. Also maybe should note that this was the first and last of the series. Opening two minutes are fantastic where you get to see the Destrons destroy a planet that blows up with the Autobot leader Victory Saber on it. Great intro. Shame only version I could find didnt have any subtitles, but was great to watch even though I couldnt understand a word.
Also finally watched Blade Trinity last night. Was enjoyable and found some of Triple H lines in it funny. Only thing was ended u8p dreaming of a wrestling promotion where the roster were vampires. very bizarre.

Have to admit I started watching Anchorman the other day and wasnt enjoing it. Turned it off after 25 minutes. I put it down to the fact I wasnt really in the mood to watch that type of comedy that day as head been watching action and super hero films that day. Hoping to watch it when am in the mood for it as everyone tells me it is a great film.

9 Songs. Utter fucking shite, it's main selling point that it has legit sex in it. It's like watching MTV2 with shagging in between the songs.
The sex isn't erotic, or titilating, enough to warrant watching it on that score, but without the sex it's just a load of songs and some poorly voiced over clips of Antarctica.
~ it ain't.
i disagree on all parts, It was a very intresting, intellegent and artistic peice of film exactly pin pointing how it feels to be without the one person you love. Great filming, with a great sound track and yes obviously some (erotic) sex.
Other films i have watched, and enjoyed recently are: Closer, Sin City, Sideways, The Motorcylce diarys.

Watched Scent Of A Woman last night, taped it off of ITV on Friday. Wasn't expecting too much too be honest, sounded a bit dodgy, but it's one of the last Pacino movies I haven't seen. And I have to say, it really impressed me, it was tacky at times. But I found it really enjoyable, and wanting to know what would happen next.
Tacky = A blind man test driving a $110,000 Ferrari at 70 MPH, with someone shouting ''LEFT'' and ''RIGHT'' and executing turns perfectly. Then the cop who stops him lets him off, and doesn't realise he's blind.

Recent DVD's watched include:
M*A*S*H Series 8 (all 3 discs)
Bourne Supremacy
Passion of Christ
House of a Thousand Daggers
The Anchor Man - The Legend of Ron Burgundy
M*A*S*H Series 8 (all 3 discs) - I am a huge M*A*S*H fan and especially so when the replaced Frank Burns with Major Winchester. This series is another set of classic shows from quite possibly the greatest sitcom ever created.
Bourne Supremacy - Well paced film with a very interesting camera view, more like that of a documentary than a film. Great performances from Matt Damon et al and a good ending that can keep it as a stand alone film or as part of a series (I know it is the second of 3, but you get what I mean, I hope!).
Passion of Christ - Even when watching this with the lights on and exchanging the odd quip with a friend, the film still brings me to tears and causes me to flinch. Whether "it is as it was" or is merely very close to what happened, it is still a very graphic portrayal of one of the most gruesome forms of punishment that man has every created. It is also a very good film.
House of a Thousand Daggers - Similar to films like Hero and Crouching Tiger, this film is another beautiful film from the Orient that has fantastic scenery and a very good story. The martial arts are also spectacular, but then we have come to expect that of late. Some excellent added touches, like "daggercam", make this film a little different from the others. it's just a shame that they don't offer an English audio option as part of the DVD extras.
The Anchor Man - The Legend of Ron Burgundy - A friend told me that this is possibly the most quotable film ever, and by Zeus was he right! It has the silly comedy of Farrell, the excellent cameo from Stiller, a ridiculous fight and a story that you know can't be true, yet it has so many aspects that could be that you are left wondering just how close to the truth it could be. Excellent eye candy in Christina Applegate too

makes this one of my favourite comedies ever!

Cinema last night: The 40 Year Old Virgin.
I loved Anchorman and knew it was the makers of that and Brick was the lead character but still wasn't expecting much. Then I read on here last night many UKFFers loved it. It was better than I originally anticipated but I didn't love it. Won't spoil the film, but the moment where he screams "YOU FUCKER!" was my favourite bit.
Pirate dvd in the past week:
Longest Yard was very good. Dukes Of Hazzard was good but unlike Longest Yard I doubt I'd watch it again in a hurry. Unleashed was excellent, really enjoyable stuff.
DVD bought off local market for £3: The Last Boyscout.
I've looked out for this at a cheap price ever since I first bought a dvd player, but it was never high up on my wish list. I first bought it ex-rental over a decade ago and really loved the film, but haven't watched it for many years so I thought as a grown-up I wouldn't be in to it as much. However I still love it. Willis whispering throughout the entire film can get annoying but his one-liners are great, the violence is good and brutal, Damon Wayans was likeable (definitely an eye-opener for younger people only used to seeing him in that "My Wife & Kids" thing) and without doubt the campest and most non-threatening bad guy in the history of movies!

Just watched "Die Hard with a Vengeance" on VHS. Suprisingly good. Sam L. Jackson rules in it.
Hard Target - you stick John Woo (arguably the best action movie director of all-time) and an 'in-his-prime' Jean-Claude Van Damme together and there's only gonna be one result...a fucking classic.
i don't care what anybody says, this film has it all (as an action movie), high speed chases, some sick-ass violence, awesome bad guys, van damme knocking out a snake, explosions all over the shop, one-liners, bows and arrows, comedy...
this film is the fucking nuts, i give this 5/5 *****, as far as big-ass fun action movies this is as good as it gets.

I watched the hitchikers guide to the galaxy on umd last night, very fuuny a lot better than i expected, i think the tv series was better, but the movie was a very good big screen version.
After getting Seed of Chucky on DVD a few months ago, I finally got around to watching all five Child's Play films this week.
Child’s Play
An entertaining film, which is slow to start(for the first half of the film), but gets better as it goes on(into the second half of the film) and as the action picks up. There are good special effects, but very basic acting, and the film on the whole doesn’t really stand the test of time. (**)
Child’s Play 2
An entertaining and fun film, which is better than the first. There is more action, better acting(specifically from Alex Vincent playing Andy), and good special effects again. Like the first Child’s Play film though it is somewhat short at around 80-minutes, but it is still entertaining for the duration. (**)
Child’s Play 3
Not as good as the first two films, but still mildly entertaining. It has the most basic acting and action of the first three Child’s Play movies, but the special effects are still on-par with the two films which preceded it. Not a great movie, but worth checking out if you have seen the first two films. (*)
Child’s Play 4 (Bride of Chucky)
A good film, which is funny, has a good soundtrack, and on the whole is better than the first three movies. It is silly at times, but still very entertaining, with good action and very good special effects.
The DVD has some good extras, including an interesting 10-minute “Spotlight on Location” featurette(which amongst other things shows how difficult it is to control the movement of Chucky), Jennifer’s Diary, Production Notes, The History of Chucky(which gives a good recap if you haven’t seen the first three movies), two commentaries, a trailer and TV spots, a photo gallery, and a “Chucky & Tiffany Do London” short film. (***)
Child’s Play 5 (Seed of Chucky)
A good film on the whole, which gets better as it goes on, and with a good last 20-minutes or so. Jennifer Tilly allows the script to have alot of digs at her, and she looks great for nearly 50! The film has very good special effects again, and the acting throughout by all the cast is pretty good (given that the film has two singers in the cast, they do a good job in the roles they are given). Like all the other Child’s Play movies it is somewhat short at around 80-minutes, but again is still entertaining for the duration. The new doll/character(Glen/Glenda) at times seems to get in the way, but by the end of the movie he seems to be a worthy addition to the film. If you liked Bride of Chucky then you should also find enjoyment in this film as well.
There are some good extras, including an interesting 18-minute "Conceiving The Seed Of Chucky" featurette(which amongst other things shows how complex the three dolls are), a "Family Hell-iday Slideshow" featurette, a "FuZion Up Close With The Seed of Chucky Stars" featurette, an audio commentary with Don Mancini(writer/director) and Jennifer Tilly, Jennifer Tilly's Diary, Cast and Filmakers Biographies, and trailers.
Get the Region 1 DVD is you can, as it is uncut and has more extras than the Region 2 DVD! (***)

I watched Big Fish last night. Third time I'd seen it. The first time I had a lump in my throat at the end, the second time I had a couple of tears but last night I was practically in floods.
I thought it was just fucking dull. It seemed to amble along pointlessly, and I felt like I was watching The Princess Bride with no humour. Or French grunters.
The Hunted - decent cat-and-mouse thriller with Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio Del Toro, kinda stupid in places but still fun for the whole 90 mins, great knife fight climax too...main problem was i just found Tommy Lee Jones totally un-convincing as the super fighter guy.
The Jacket - good shit, but this is one of them movies that kinda feels like it delibratly tries to confuse you. Still you get to see Keira Knightley's tits and Adrien Brody is great.
Mean Creek - man, what a sad movie...like a cross between Stand By Me & River's Edge (another film you should check), about a group of boys taking revenge on a bully. Very slow, arty film direction and some really talented young actors make this a pretty harrowing affair, it's depressed the shit out of me, and it's saturday night

definatly worth a viewing though.

Harold and Kumar Get the Munchies
A good film, but very silly. It has the usual mix of gross-out humour, nudity and swearing (much like American Pie and Road Trip). There are some good laughs to be had during the film, but it is not laugh a minute stuff, and there is too much of a gap between each funny part where nothing good or interesting is happening! John Cho and Kal Penn are good as Harold and Kumar, and there are a few good cameos during the movie. The film is not as good as I had hoped though given some of the reviews and hype the film had been given, and by the end I felt the film never really went anywhere (and was pretty much pointless), but it is still a funny film and will appeal to fans of films like Road Trip, American Pie, Eurotrip, and Dude Where’s My Car. (***)
I went to see A History of Violence today. It is a very basic film, with a very slow pace, average acting, and unnecessary sex scenes which do nothing for the story. It is also very predictable, and outside of the three action scenes is pretty boring on the whole! For a film which many are calling one of the best of the year, I was very disappointed. (*)
Finished watching first series of The A-Team earlier, only the second time I have watched it, and am currently watching the second series. Its really a shame they cant make great shows like that anymore that have a great mix of action and comedy plus with characters who are so likable it is almost impossible to hate them. B.A and Murdoch must be the most under rated double act ever.

Just watched "Seed of chucky" on dvd
I thought the film was good, Better the bride of chucky.
In the past few weeks i've seen -
at the cinema -
Airplane - Was good to see this classic on the big screen.
The Matrix - Saw this 2 weeks ago, first time i'd seen it. Not something i'd wanna watch again but fairly enjoyable.
Wolf Creek - I really liked it, very tense.
Land Of The Dead - Loved the original trilogy, and the Dawn remake. I liked this movie, though i think they should have left more gore in and slapped an 18 certificate on it.
A History Of Violence - Saw this new Viggo Mortensen/Cronenberg film tonight, good film. Nice use of gore as well. Ed Harris is always good value.
Drop Dead Gorgeous - Black comedy with Kirstie Alley, much in the vein of Heathers (which i love)
on DVD -
Seed Of Chucky - Thouhgt this was really poor, but you get to check out Jennifer Tilley's rack for 80mins so it's not all bad.
House Of 1000 Corpses - Watched this again, and enjoyed it a lot more second time around. Prefer the sequal to this though.

The strangest part of the film is seeing Buffy dubbed over in Russian with the films subtitles telling you what's said in English.

So last night was my lame fast (I didnt think of the name until writing it there) where my sister gave me 2 DVDs to watch , Juwana Mann and Just Married
Juwana Mann - The tale about a guy thats banned indefinetly so cooks up a scheme to dress as a female and become a female Basketball player , The jokes were very obvious eg Taking a shower with the rest of the team , However there was a lack at all of any star but the acting for what its worth was quite good the lead (juwana) was the guy thats often typecast as a rasta street fighter and scooby doo haha but I think he pulled it of .... To some it up bad comedy , has a charm to it although
Just Married - Tripe with ashton kutcher ..... Nuff said

Can't believe I only just noticed this thread.
I tend to watch loads of films at the cinema and on DVD so i'll just go over what i've seen in the past week.
Land of the Dead: It was ok, though I much preferred Dawn of the Dead. I'm never really a fan of the sort of 'post apocalyptic' film where everything is set in darkness for the most part and is quite grim. It also seemed to lack something - the plot just wasn't strong. I'll give it **
Coach Carter: I tend to enjoy sports films, even if they aren't very good, but this was good. The plot was a bit different from the average sports film, and it doesn't have the predictable ending that you'd expect. For this, i'll say ***
Suspicion: Now I'm a huge Hitchcock fan, and generally love classic old films, but this was a surprisingly weak effort from Hitchcock. It took too long to get started (the first half hour of a 90 minute film having no real relevance to the final hour made no sense) and was just quite weak really. Basically it's about a newly married woman who is suspicious that her husband wants to kill her. But of course, he doesn't really. Not one i'd watch again in a hurry. **1/2
Goal!: Again, I love sports films, and I tend to love football films, and this is no exception. The actual footballers in this film were cringe-makingly awful actors, but then what do you expect really. I enjoyed it overall though and would recommend any football fan sees it. ***1/2
Overall, the top 10 films I've seen on the cinema this year are...
1. Hotel Rwanda
2. Revenge of the Sith
3. Crash
4. Sin City
5. In Good Company
6. Downfall
7. Fantastic Four
8. Harold and Kumar Get The Munchies
9. Closer
10. Million Dollar Baby
An honourable mention though goes to The Spongebob Squarepants Movie. I hadn't actually ever seen it before, but my best mate is a big fan, so we went along and I was in stitches. Really funny film.
Without even the smallest shadow of a doubt, the worst film I've seen this year (and perhaps ever) is Team America: World Police.
