TNA don't have to release the figures because they are a private company, however I also imagine them not releasing the figures has something to do with the fact that they don't want to advertise that despite having a weekly primetime television show on a pretty major network that draws a viewership of one and a half million people every week, only twenty/thirty thousand of them think the product is worth spending money once a month.

These are the estimate figures...

December 2006: 35,000 buys for Turning Point (Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle)

January 2007: 34,000 buys for Final Resolution (Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle)

February 2007: 23,000 buys for Against All Odds (Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage)

March 2007: 36,000 buys for Destination X (Samoa Joe vs. Sting)

April 2007: 35,000 buys for Lockdown (Team Angle vs. Team Cage)

May 2007: 21,000 buys for Sacrifice (Kurt Angle vs. Sting vs. Christian Cage)

June 2007: 22,000 buys for Slammiversary (King of the Mountain)

July 2007: 15,000 buys for Victory Road (Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle vs. Team 3D)

August 2007: 26,000 buys for Hard Justice (Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle)

September 2007: 17,000 buys for No Surrender (Kurt Angle vs. Abyss)

October 2007: 36,000 buys for Bound For Glory (Sting vs. Kurt Angle)

November 2007: 27,000 buys for Genesis (Sting and Booker T vs. Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash)

January 2008: 20,000 buys for Final Resolution (Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage I)

February 2008: 30,000 buys for Against All Odds (Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage II)

March 2008: 20,000 buys for Destination X (Samoa Joe, Kevin Nash and Christian Cage vs. Angle Alliance)

April 2008: 55,000 buys for Lockdown (Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle)

May 2008: 25,000 buys for Sacrifice (Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner vs. Kaz)

Wow, it's been as low as 15,000! Dudleys = Super Draws. Those numbers are truly woeful if they are accurate. Even ECW used to do better than didn't they, or at least near that.
NBT
Going from those figures, they're doing between 25-40% of the business on pay-per-view that the old ECW used to do, from what I can figure out. 40,000 buys would equal a 0.1 PPV buyrate and ECW used to do around 0.2/0.3 on PPV. However, I'm unsure if the amount of buys for a 1.0 rating (Which I believe is currently 400,000) increases in the same way that the figure for tv ratings does.

It's crazy to think about the current state of the US wrestling scene with those figures, the current supposed number 2 promotion can barely reach what the former number 3 promotion from the old hierarchy did, and that's with Panda pumping money constantly into it. Jeez.

Yeah, but ECW started running PPVs as the biggest wrestling boom in history was getting rolling. TNA didn't even exist until that boom was well over, and has only existed during the ongoing decline of the industry as a whole.

I thought that was taken as read...

Where the fuck is Tomko?
NBT
Apparently he got called up to do a dark match but turned up so out of shape that nobody was impressed. Most of the heat for it got put on Johnny Ace though, as Tomko was apparently working hurt and hadn't been able to train. I haven't heard anything about him since that though.

I hope not. It's so much better when there's a handful of mystery entrants.

I agree but I feel 21 named competitors is too little.
I'd have expected at least 25.

If I were to watch a boatload of recent AAA, would it help if I knew what was going on ? Or could I just leap right in and enjoy it ?
Stylin_and_Profilin
This is potentially unanswerable but none the less here goes.

Looking back at the recent VHS topic on here and also the figure threads got me thinking back. Even now when you go to car boot sales and the like you ALWAYS see the old Hasbro figures and some token tape from the original 'boom' period of the late 80's and early 90's. Even at primary school before people lost interest or grew out of wrestling it was always an absolute stick on that if you were round at someones house they had the Real American or Ultimate Warrior tape plus some figures.

Are there any figures available or anyone know just to how many Hasbros were actually produced / sold and likewise with the Collisseum/Silvervision videos from the late 80's.

Didn't JCW have a black and white striped coloured ring sometime before 2004?

Looked pretty swanky.

I wonder if the clowns had it custom made.

I think they mention on commentry that they bought a boxing ring (and probably padded it out a little). The one they use on JCW Vol. 1 is horrible, but yeah you're right it was a pretty cool design. The ring they replace it with in Vols 2 & 3 (and I guess they still use) is a massive improvement.

Anyone know where I can get wrestler themes downloaded from i.e a site? Cheers.

There was a site called Xylot Themes, dunno if it's still around though, You'd be best googling it and seeing what you get.

They had to shut the site down. More information on the site.

What happened to David Pick? I used to get tapes from him all the time. He got the SMV UK license for awhile, and I recently tried Googling him with no luck.

What were the original plans for Austin around Survivor series 1999 up to mania 2000?

Has RVD done a shoot interview since he left WWE?

Does anybody know the dates of the RAW's when 1, DX Vs. Kai En Tai was the main event? and 2, When they opened the show with a 4 way tag for the tag belts and the New Age Outlaws pinned each other straight away and won the match?
Bluetonic
Hello guys, anyone know where I can get any AWA, WCCW, NWA, BWO, NWO or ECW t-shirts pretty cheap? Don't mind if they're knock-offs, just if they're good quality.

Edit - this WCCW looks nice
but sadly it's only on WWE Shopzone with the DVD and I already have that.

I've had to close down my e-bay account cos I was using it far too much, but if there are any decent bargains on there I'd be tempted to use again.

I thought it was pretty much what they did on the run up to WM 17 minus the triple HHH run over storyline?

Has the Undertake ever faced Chris Jericho in a singles match?, I cannot think of one even on house shows during the 1999 - 2002 period before the draft as they were pretty much heels and faces at similar times and then after the draft jericho left when interbrand matches became the norm. In all honesty its a weird Dream Match for me

They've been in a few 3-Ways, and 4-Ways, but I can't find a singles match between the two.

Wow, that's crazy, both of them have been in the business together for 10 years and not met in the ring once? Perhaps they're saving it...
steven1977uk2002
I wouldnt of thought of them doing another Rock/Austin mania match. I would like to think they had planned the Fatal four way all along minus Foley. Maybe the ending could of been Austin/Show as didnt Vince plan to do that match at mania?

An old dear came into my shop the other day and got chatting to one of my staff about how her husband, who died fairly recently was a wrestler years ago, and was very well known to British wrestling fans. My staff member can't remember what his name was, and the lady hasn't been back in. I'm in Canterbury and I know Jackie Pallo was living in Ramsgate as of the late nineties, but I don't recall hearing that he'd died. Anyone think of any other big names who've died in the last year or two that were around the Kent/ South east area? This is a long shot I know, I'm just curious.

Pallo did die a couple of years ago. A popular UKFFer even wrote this about him:

Philo_Vance
Holy shit. How did I miss that? I'd say there's a fair chance it was him then, seeing as he was living just 20 miles away. I'll have to think of a tactful way to ask her when she's next in. Cheers for the timely reply!
Philo_Vance
Having read that obit properly I'm pretty sure now, I've got a feeling the lady's name is Trixie. She's plastered in tattoos that are even worse than mine.

Can't find the original thread (Search is shit imo), so whatever happened to Raven's lawsuit against WWE?

If I remember rightly, there are only one or two of his matches in the archive. His heyday was the '60s and almost all the stuff in the archive is from the '70s and later. He wasn't even involved with Joint Promotions from 1974 onwards.
Philo_Vance
true. was it not the case that Pallo actually ran shows in direct competition with joint promotions in later years and hence ended up on a lot of peoples' shit lists?

I was browsing through the History of WWE site and noticed that at a MSG show on 1/17/94 there was a Royal Rumble match, won by Owen Hart. Apart from one on Smackdown a few years back, have there been any other non-PPV Royal Rumble matches at all?

EDIT: Answering my own question a bit, i've found an 18 man royal rumble match listed on 18/05/94 with Undertaker winning.

They do 'em once in a while now with midcards/lower midcards, especially on Raw.
EDIT: Oops, an old question blush.gif

Does anyone know of a site which list the prices of what MOC WWE Classics figures are currently worth?
klown
MOC Single Classics are worth a lot less this weather than usual, if you really wanted it, you can pick up the really hard to find commercial ones like UT and HBK series 1 for about 30-40 quid, sometimes even less. Which is good as a collector, crap if youre selling.

www.classicfigs.com is your friend.

Any double packs and triple packs or Internet exclusives, send me a PM of what youre selling smile.gif
