The poster and PPV info is up on Virgin now, on Channel 0. Repeats are on Monday at 10am, 2pm and 6pm, if you have trouble ordering it on Sunday, it tells you to restart the box. That worked for me once, nearly ruined one of the PPVs a few years ago, and the box decided to come on luckily just as the promo video was coming on.

Does anyone know if the Instant Replay Debate took place as advertised at WrestleMania VI?
I remember it being pushed in the run up to Mania VI but it never aired on the Sky Movies version of WM VI or did it appear on the SilverVision VHS version.

The_BarbarIAN

It was when Smackdown went off air. Angle also snogged the Undertaker and exposed his arse at him on a UK House show.
WWE should use the footage with Michael Cole calling TNA wrestlers and MMA fighters "faggots".

Just watching Wrestlemania 16 for the first time in donkeys years and noticed how strange the finish to the Hardcore Battle Royal was. Hardcore Holly went to cover Crash with a few seconds to go, Crash did not attempt to kick out and the ref stopped at a two count while the clock still had another 2 seconds left. JR was adamant that Crash got a shoulder up, and Crash took the belt and went up the ramp. But Finkle announced Hardcore as the champ. The way he spoke was almost like he was not sure who he was supposed to announce as the winner.
So what was the deal with that finish? Was it botched? Was Crash really meant to leave as champ? Did Fink screw up announcing the winner and they just had to go with it?

From what I remember reading the finish was indeed botched. Hardcore Holly ended up getting the belt the next night on Raw IIRC.

I was reading an article on that the other day funnily enough and, apparently, Hardcore Holly was waiting by the announce table for a while waiting for the finish. He was meant to pin Crash with the time running out just before the three count, but he was too early with the pinfall and all hell broke loose.

I remember reading about this not to long ago. He gave drugs to Mikey Whipwrecks brother who in turn gave it to someone else and that person OD'd from it and died. Heyman found out and sacked him. Jones was supposedly a full-on scum bag. He shagged Cookie from TNA when she was only 14, according to Raven (who SWEARS he didnt do it as well).

Yeah I've heard a few of Raven's stories that involve Amber Gertner & Cookie usually being together around the boys and often ended with them in one of the wrestlers' rooms for the night.

I'd say £3 for a UK wrestling DVD is a bit much. But £1.50 for a decent DVD would be a ridiculous price to put on it. Charity stores aren't there to sell things for people to buy cheap, they're there to make money for the charity, which means putting a decent price on items where they can.

I've heard it was because of Hogan's decision to "retire". Flair beating Hogan at WrestleMania was a no-no and putting Hogan over a drawing card only for him to walk away was also a no-no. So apparantly they switched it so Hogan wouldn't have to lose and they could end WM with their babyface winning.

Meltzer has said in the past that it's because their house-show run was receiving only tepid reactions, so McMahon determined that he would need to programme something else in the main event.

They answer this in this month's issue of Power Slam funnily enough. Basically what Ronnie said was right, they had done the match on House Shows in all of the major North American markets, and the attendance was getting lower and lower due to over exposure of the same match routine. Vince thought they needed something fresh for Wrestlemania, so they went with the two matches we got.

They said on the documentary that Flair wasnt "living up to expectations" and decided to run with Sid. So it sounds like Meltzers reasons are probably true. If you remember, Hogan vs Flair was still booked as the main event of WrestleMania even after the big Sid vs Hogan angle at the Royal Rumble. Hogan won a "telephone poll" and got the shot against Flair. It was only later it was changed.

I read somewhere before that Britain first got to see Wrestlemania 1 and 2 on Sky Movies, just before Wrestlemania 3.
I was under this impression also. A quick google has produced nothing concrete, I know even up to the very early 90's ppvs were still on sky movies as it was pre sky sports. I'd imagine this is a confusion between the wwf stuff that was on ITV sporadically during the dying days of world of sport.
Sky Movies didn't start until 1989. As far as I know, WrestleMania 2 through 5 were on Sky Channel (later Sky One), with WM3 the only one at was live. 6 through 9 were live on Sky Movies, with everything after that on Sky Sports (10 on tape delay) and later Sky Box Office.
Eurosport also showed a few events like WM6 on a 6 week or so tape delay split into two shows

I remember seeing a match on one of the Hogan compilation tapes where he beat Taker with a rollup after hitting him with the Urn. Surely there must have been more to it that that though?
