I was browsing through the channels on freeview last night and came across Impact on Virgin 1, it seems quite recent as Desmond Wolfe had just debuted.
How far behind are Virgin 1?

Anybody remember when Dustin Rhodes would walk through the crowd with "HE'S COMING!" signs? Must have been the end of 1997. Where did that all lead to? Thanks.

Hi
I'm just wondering, when Jericho says "I am the best in the world at what I do", is this because he isn't allowed to say the word 'wrestler' or 'wrestling'? Or is it just refering to other things he has done besides wrestling like Fozzy.
Just seems like a weird thing to say. Why doesn't he just say he's the best wrestler?

It's a play on Wolverine's catchphrase, Jericho's into comics and they're both from Canada. I think that explains it.

It was after Val Venis had stolen his wife and he broke out of the Goldust character for a while. He was going around doing the "he's coming back" stuff for a while, making it sound like 'He' was Jesus. It turned out that the 'He' in question was just Goldust!

Are their any places where I can find out whos recently signed with a company? Reason I ask is someone mentioned Tyson Tomko secretly signed with TNA 2 weeks ago but I cant find any info anywhere to see whos in the company. Sure TNA and wiki are the ones I normally use to see who in a roster but for some reason hes not listed.

I doubt even US doctors would give wrestlers a prescription for Morphine tablets, if there is such a thing. You'd have to have final-stage terminal Cancer to be given them, I guess.

I'm sure i read in Bret Hart's Book(so it might not be totally accurate) that Davey Boy Smith was at one point addicted to Morphine and pretty much off his head everytime he saw him. No idea how true this is or if it is how the hell Davey Boy managed to get a hold of Morphine on a regular basis.

All right, last night I got wasted. Like a retard I turned my TV and Skybox off at the plug; the UFC didn't record.
Anyway, I know ESPN show a replay at 10 pm. According to my Sky Planner it's only two hours instead of three. Do they edit out a load of stuff?
I'm toying with the idea of watching the fights online. If ESPN are going to show all everything though I can wait and watch the show then.

It's not like he wore it for every show in WWE either - he had it when he debuted in 1999, and also wore it during 2005 as well, IIRC.
WWE can't stop him from wearing the medal, as he owns it. If he's not wearing it in TNA (like he doesn't wear any other medals), that's his choice.

It's because James Wallace could get a try-out at any time, and the safes aren't that secure.

I'm probably being worked like it's 1989, but what is the deal with McMahon's commentary during the Austin - Bret Hart match at the Survivor Series in 1996? It does seem rather mean-spirited, even though McMahon is the good guy commentator here.
"Bret Hart's offence looks like nothing at all"
"He should have stayed retired"
"Austin is the miles better competitor and wrestler!"
Things like that. The match is on Vintage Collection this week.

Just after. Bret had just signed a lower-in-the-short term, higher-in-the-long-run contract with the WWF, after WCW had thrown the stupid money at him.
I've just remembered another small detail from that match (I think). At one point, Austin goes for the Sharpshooter on Bret, and JR makes reference to the unlikeliness of Bret submitting to his own move. Vince replies 'It could happen'.
Amusing, considering what came at the following years event.

It could be, but if it was, he either didn't tell Bret, or Bret has kept kayfabe since then.
In both 'Wrestling with Shadows' and his autobiography, Bret talks about the heel turn coming later than that, as far as I remember.
That said, I'm more than willing to be corrected on this if someone can remind me of something I'm forgetting.
