What's the comic book series? I had that with Fables - I discovered it when 9 volumes existed and while I was reading those vol 10 became available. Plus I found the spin-off, Jack of Fables too - good times!

"The Walking Dead".. Really well written zombie series. I got turned on to it from reading the fun but silly Marvel Zombies.. In the foreward the author talks about how he's been pigeon-holed as "the zombie comic guy", so I thought I'd check out the series that made him favous as I saw it in the library. And bam; it turned out to be brilliant! I was pretty chuffed when I found out the library had the first 4 books. Now I just gotta get hold of the rest....

1) My girlfriend gets back from holiday tomorrow. She's been away for ten days on with a mate on a holiday she bookd before we got together and I've missed her more than I expected so can't wait for her to be back.

2) I've got a temporary 6 month promotion coming up that will look great on my CV and will hopefully lead to me moving jobs within the next year for a proper promotion.

3) Work. Yep strange one for some but as a youth worker our summer holiday prgramme so far has been great and although I've had to confine myself to the office a little more than I would have liked at times I've still had some great fun.

4) The football season is almost back proper, can't wait to get back reffing tbh. Big season this one for me as well because I'm in the SFA's development programme and I'll have supervisors out most weeks and I'll have to pass the advanced exam and fitness test.

5) Going to the pub with a couple of mates for a few pints shortly. I love going to the pub on a Thursday.

1) Ghostbusters on the PS3. Bought it second-hand for £38, played it, loved it, finished it, traded it back in for £30. And spent that £30 on 3 more games, so it sort of works out 4 games for the price of one.

3) Had a smashing afternoon at the museum yesterday. They've got dinosaur skeletons that look like they're bumming each other (if you look from the right angle), and a big Egyptian coffin that you can stand in the middle of and pretend you're buried (but standing up).

4) Going to Amsterdam in a few weeks time for my mate's birthday - only for a few days, and neither of us really drinks or smokes so I'm not exactly sure what we'll get up to there, but she wants to go round the sex museums and go on a boat trip which both sound pretty fun to me.

5) The fact that it's been ages since I've been cross enough with 5 things to warrant a post in the 5 things you hate thread. I love being annoyed at things, but it's nice to be a bit less grumpy for a change.

1: I'm really liking the new Pearl Jam material. "Got Some" seemed a decent little rock song when they played it on the new Conan O'Brien show and I currently have "The Fixer" on repeat. Neither seem especially groundbreaking, but PJ have become the kind of band who throw out eleven or twelve new songs every few years and you take what you can get at this stage.

They're not likely to write another VS or Yield anytime soon, and recent releases have been poor with the exception of a couple of standout tracks (especially "Come Back" off the last album which I would argue is one of their finest songs overall) but the new stuff seems to have slightly more substance than some of the filler from Riot Act and the recent S/T. Perhaps working with Brendan O'Brien again is going to result in the first great Pearl Jam album in years?

2: Just finished season one of Battlestar Galactica and I'm finding it's getting more and more interesting with each episode. The cliffhanger style ending of the last episode of S1 was a genuinely shocking moment. Let's hope the show gets better as it goes on.

3: My band is finally starting to find its sound and I'm paticularly proud of some of the new songs we've been writing, including one that's actually under three minutes!

4: Mentioned in the upcoming gigs thread but I have a ticket to the first night of the Pixies upcoming Irish tour. I cannot wait.

The fact she is very attractive and seems a really nice person sort of plays into the reason I loved it, that being the fact that I just interacted with a nice friendly person on a nice friendly level with out them thinking I'm either retarded, mental or dull as hell or vice versa. it made a pleasant change for some one I've just met.

3- I've got plenty on at work, which is good as i like to be busy or do nothing, i hate that hazy middle ground of trying to stretch a job. However I am still to stupid to do a good job of it and i suspect I'm more of a hindrance than help, but you work with what you got i guess.

3. Upon searching to see if they're doing any gigs, I found out a London date goes onsale tomorrow.
