My friend Charlotte's middle name is Alan so even if you do call it a name like Jaime you can rest in the knowledge it won't be as boy-ish as that.

I think it was an island thing. No out of the ordinary names at all when i was little. They were all traditional english names. I remember another girl who moved to the island and her name was Keiley and she was pointed and laughed at too.
I remember my nan being in shock and wouldnt shut up about a new boy whos name was Mohamed. Christ, you'd have thought hell had frozen over the way my nan went on.

What about a name that can be shortened.. or abbrieviated.. sounds daft.. but kids sometimes resent their given names and use abbreviations or even middle names as their first names..

so calling a baby Frankin Bosmeyer III or summat wouldnt go down to well... though could be a frankie i supose and so so on..

What the hell do i know.. I ache after physio....

My parents chose the name Duane as it can't be shortened.

I think Dylan would be a nice name.

For a boy, Matthew or Tyler.

A couple of weeks ago i thought hmmm maybe a surprise would be nice...
But if im being totally honest i've had a really pants pregnancy thanks to my first trimester so, a little treat like this i think will make me alot happier about the whole thing.
I've been getting more and more excited over that last few weeks, now im going absolutley batshit.
I really really can't wait. Not just to find out what 'it' shall from then on be known by, but i really want to see them again. I wish i could see them all the time.
I hope it behaves this time though. Last time they just laid there, it took ages for the sonographer to get all the measurements. Just 2 seconds of a little dance and that was it, back to sleep.
Its been making up for it though, constantly kicking the crap out of me, but this last few days they've gone a bit quiet, or maybe im just getting used to the movement. When ever i try to feel it, i feel something. For example right now its kicking me on my left side.

Were trying desperatley to save up for a 4D scan, it means we'll have to save up for not only the actual scan itself, but also the ferry fare and petrol to get there sad.gif
If i can have one though i would like it at 30 weeks.

Can you tell im a bit mad over this scanning business tongue.gif ?

This is quality. Well worth the money, you get to see the baby on a huge monitor, really detailed. We got quite a few photos etc and they come out great, I still have one of the photos as my desktop wallpaper. If you're really crazy you can get a DVD of the baby roaming around but I felt that was a step too far.

Good idea getting it a bit later when the baby has developed a bit more, I would suggest the later the better in this respect.

They arent allowed to tell you the sex of the baby up here (NHS Forth Valley Policy- dont know what its like everywhere else), so we didnt find out our baby was a boy until the 4D scan.
Chest Rockwell
Spoiler tags when you find out the sex of the baby, yeah?

Cheers.
Kookoocachu
You can only get the 4D scans up to 33 weeks, as the baby bny then is a little bit squished and cant really move around much.

Luckily, my hospital tell you the sex, but if i can get a 4D scan, i think i'll still buy everything in white or just keep the receipts until we can see its bits in all their glory! biggrin.gif

The prices of these things are phenominal, but i've found one thats based in Portsmouth so we wouldnt have to travel that far for it and its also the cheapest ive seen.

The package that i want includes,

Approx 15 min DVD
CD ROM of 3D printable images
1x colour gloss 3D photo enlargement in A4 photomount
3x colour gloss 4x6 photo prints
BabyScan well-being check and growth scan
Sexing if required

for £190.

On another site i saw the same package for £260!!!! i know its probably worth every penny, but christ alive who has that much money to spend really?

I'm getting so excited now, im allmost nervous! this time tomorow i'll be watching little sproglett do its thing.

Sounds like a lot of money to spend when you are expecting a baby, might be wisest to hold on to your cash for when the baby is born for all you'll need to buy.
neil
I think the "4D" scans are dumb. Its pretty obvious what your baby is going to look like and I shake my head when I hear people expecting a kid going "yeah it looks just like us I'm so glad we got the 3D scan".

It also annoys me that they call it 4D because its not 4 dimensions as well.

Belly's a dimension.
Kookoocachu
Its 4D, because it uses sound waves to enhance a 3D image.
neil
Doesn't make it 4 dimensions though. Draw a cube in 4 dimensions and get back to me whether you think that scan is truly 4 dimensions.
bAzTNM#1 Fan
I thought time was the fourth dimension?

Well that was the explanation it gave on the scan sites.
I have no clue about dimensions or anything like that. I liked my biology.

And why do you feel the urge to post in this topic, when you never have anything constructive to say about children or pregnancy? Just cant resist following me around can you? you hang around my posts like a bad smell. Quite sad really.

Thanks C, i was up at 6 this morning, just couldnt get back to sleep. I dont feel as excited today, but i think thats more because im tired.
I just had my appointment through for my physio to see if i can start coping with my SPD, i've fallen on the stairs 3 days in a row now, but luckily, i caught the step out this time i went down it wink.gif
I nearly fell in town yesterday after kneeling down to some magazines in WHSmiths, i think it went unnoticed though rolleyes.gif

I have the COOLEST thing to show you too, as i've been quite down about this whole SPD thing, i got a little present smile.gif

Willful stupidity is still stupidity.

And don't try to analyse my posting habits, because you're far too self-obsessed to have been able to have formed any kind of accurate observations of it.

If you really want an answer though, I get pretty bored at work, trolling can be pretty fun, and you're a bit of a cunt.

MAT, in response to your last, we're waiting to get a date through for the scan, although it should be around the 11th of june or so.

According to the midwife, our due date is 20th December. GUess who's NOT working this christmas thumbs-up.gif

I swear that Mrs. Silvera is a bit bigger than she should be at 8 weeks though. Plus, we have twins in the family...might be buying double everything!

Those 4D scans look awesome, whats the earliest you can have them?
Kookoocachu
i looked huge at 8 weeks, everyone thought i was having twins!
Its just where the womb is stretching out, some times it gets ahead of baby which is what happened to me.

The earliest you can have them is 25 weeks smile.gif
You can have them earlier in some places, but they reccomend for the best pictures 25 - 32 weeks smile.gif
Kookoocachu
Here it is!!! my first baby item smile.gif

Its a changing bag, made by Pink Lining, from John Lewis. Dont ask how much it cost because it will mortify you. I was a little miffed that they spent this much money on me but hey, a presents a present tongue.gif

A mirror!

Plastic zip up bag for baby toiletries.

Changing mat.

Washable dirt bag.

Insulated bottle holder.

Loads of pockets!.

More pockets.

AND! the matching bottle holder, fully insulated to keep bottles warm or cold for hours, also cost a bomb wink.gif

I think a quick look at our respective post counts throws that accusation out the window. I just find it very funny to watch your online breakdown you creepy dribbling spastic.

I too was interested in how much one of those would set someone back but I actually engaged my brain (something I accept that you can't do on account of what I only imagine was a rather bad traffic accident) and searched for it myself.
