Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey (for female bantamweight title)

K.J. Noons vs. Josh Thomson

Paul Daley vs. Kazuo Misaki

Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza vs. Bristol Marunde

Lumumba Sayers vs. Scott Smith

PRELIMINARY CARD (Showtime Extreme)

Alexis Davis vs. Sarah Kaufman

Caros Fodor vs. Pat Healy

Ryan Couture vs. Conor Heun

Roger Bowling vs. Brandon Saling

Let's get talking about it, by far the biggest female fight in MMA since Cyborg/Carano. Even Dana White is excited for this one. Undercard is full of crowd pleasers too so it looks like it's gonna be another fun night of Strikeforce!

I think Ronda Rousey is awesome.

Like a female Chael Sonnen but with a slightly better ass.

I do not follow Female MMA that much but I am looking forward to this one. Tate is the favourite, but I will be rooting for Rousey all the way. I have also grown a soft spot for Daley, I think he could knockout Misaki as he showed he had improved his takedown defence agaisnt Woodely and gave Woodley a very tough fight.

I think Thomson will beat Noons, when injury free Thomson is a damm good lightweight who could and should be doing a lot better for himself.

EDIT: Anyone want to tell me how good Ryan Couture is please, as I never watch the Challengers shows.

he's looked decent, standup is raw but he's pretty savvy on the ground, he doesn't fight anything like his dad. He's been fighting a fairly low level of opposition though so a fight with Connor Huen is a massive step up.

Anyone fancying Daley to smash Misaki? Misaki has only fought twice since his epic 2nd fight with Jorge Santiago, against questionable opposition too (an aging Akira Shoji!). I think Misaki's in for a rough night.

Also dont know what to make of Scott Smith's comeback, i basically called fof him to retire after his last fight as he'd basically assumed the role of punchbag. Maybe the time off has done him good?

who does people fancy in the main event? It's insane that Rousey has talked herself into the position she has after less than 138 seconds pro fighting time in a fight TOTAL! It kinda proves how thin the division is, but it also proves what some good shit talking can do for you. Rousey is by far the most exciting thing to happen to female MMA in years. It's almost impossible to predict cause there's so little to go on, but i think taking Tate down the stretch might be the safe bet. Smartly, Strikeforce have Sarah Kaufman fighting on the undercard who will no doubt be the next challenger (considering she wins).

The undercard has some decent shit on there too, Fodor/Healy probably feel a little gutted that their down on the prelims but the Showtime Extreme thing means that they going out to a big audience. Both guys are on good streaks and are coming of big wins, yet they find themselves fighting under Scott Smith who's lost his 3 fights badly. Still, we get to see it so im happy. Always got time for Roger Bowling as well, exciting fighter.

Noons/Thomson could be great, i'm hoping we get to see a little more activity from Thomson this year, if he is feeling any kind of ring-rust of whatever and decides to try standing with Noons he could be in some deep shit. Noons new apparent reserved style might serve him well too, i'm fancying a Noons upset (would it be considered an upset?).

Yeah that could be a great little fight. I don't think Noons winning would be too big of an upset to be honest. Especially as you say with Thomson maybe coming in a bit rusty.

This card looks fantastic on paper. Daley vs Misaki will be good stuff for however long it lasts. Misaki is known to get into some rough fights and I can see him being nutty enough to stand with Daley. He can take a battering but I'm not sure he can stand up to Daley's power too long.

Tate vs Rousey is very intriguing. There's so many unanswered questions about Ronda that makes this a really tough call. She couldn't have got off to a more impressive start in her career. The stats are ridiculous. 3-0 amateur, 4-0 pro and not one fight went past a minute. That's a ridiculous stat. But it does leave questions, has she really been tested? To get a title shot so early on in her career is a no lose situation imo. If she loses she was inexperienced, it doesn't mean she's all hype because she's still transitioning to MMA. She's not the finished article. But if she wins with only 4 pro fights, that will be a big accomplishment. And she's only gonna improve either way.

I've said before, I like Ronda. She has an exciting style and actually has some personality unlike a lot of the women fighters. She is to the women's MMA world what Tito Ortiz was to the UFC in the late 90s. She brings excitement and whether she's talking shite and you agree or disagree she's a talking point. And for marketing purposes, it doesn't hurt that she's fit as fuck either.

Very interesting fight. If I had to make a prediction, I'll go with experience in cases like this more often than not so I'll go Tate by decision. Maybe a TKO late on. Who really knows though? It could just be Rousey's time.

Despite being untested Rousey is a big favourite with the bookies.

I know dick about women's MMA so I cannot really say anything on who I think will win.

I agree that Daley may catch Misaki at the right time. Would like to see Daley get a big win. In regards to if Noons winning being a upset, I feel that it would be due to the style clash, as Thomson has the style to give Noons fits as he is a good enough striker to stay comepetative with Noons long enough to get takedowns and score points.

Thomson has some quite good BJJ as well, but Noons sub defence is meant to be not bad. I wager that Thomson will win on points, but Noons does have less mileage on the clock and Thomson like said above will have some rust so I would not be shocked if he pulled it out.
