Having just started watching Vengeance 2001, I was reminded of this fantastic intro: 'One'
With 'Hail of the Mountain King' (or 'the Alton Towers song' when I asked my music teacher 10 years ago) as the theme, it really is a fantastic video, and proves WWF/E really know how to sell a show when they want to. But what is your favourite PPV intro? Can be any company you like! |

While not actually a PPV, the VHS intro to theGreat American Bash 1987
Superb. This post has been edited by PowerButchi: Feb 19 2012, 3:35 -------------------- ![]() I think people making Wales the favourites are over-egging the pudding though. It should be a good game, but if England field their best squad and keep it tight, they'll be comfortable. MY VERY RARELY UPDATED BLOG - http://garethsalrightblog.blogspot.co.uk |

Cage of death 6.
For a low budget company, I thought this was excellent. http://youtube.com/watch?v=W3VdBKMRDVg Still one of my favourite wrestling events ever too. |

WWF Summerslam 1988
Wrestlemania 6's intro with Vince in full on "scary voice" mode is a thing of beauty too. Wrestlemania 7's intro holds a lot of memories of watching that particular event about 200 times in my youth. This post has been edited by bAzTNM#1: Feb 19 2012, 8:09 -------------------- |

Wrestlemania 17's intro still sends chills down my spine every time I watch it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJGo61RMYHg Almost as good as that, is the one to the 2001 Survivor Series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLoRuvlZjiE Then there's the 1998 Survivor Series one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoBEJqmC0tU -------------------- ![]() |

"Twenty years ago, one man had a vision ..."
WrestleMania XX - Where It All Begins Again. The first minute has clips of all the huge moments from the first 19, combined with the unforgettable pieces of commentary, and then the second minute has comments from some of the wrestlers appearing at WM20 saying how important the show is. Then it finishes with 3 generations of McMahon: Vince stood with Shane and Shane's newborn baby. -------------------- ![]() Let the pigeons loose. |

My favourite ECW opening was the 1996 Hardcore TV opening which when I first saw on German channel DSF left me aghast at the incredible violence and amazing moves I had never seen before as a WWF fan.
But as this topic is for PPV intros, I'll fast forward to the company's greatest ppv: ECW Anarchy Rulz 1999 I loved everything ECW did in 1999 and this intro shows all that was great about the company at that time. In 63 seconds they squeezed all of the following amazing clips: - RVD doing the double-thumb pose - RVD does the Van Daminator on Buh Buh Ray Dudley - RVD does the Five-Star Frog Splash on Balls Mahoney - Spike Dudley's balcony dive from Heatwave '99 - Impact Players posing in the ring (Storm, Credible, Jason, & Dawn Marie) - RVD somersault plancha into the crowd towards Bam Bam Bigelow - Tajiri baseball slide dropkick to Little Guido - Lance Storm smacks a breezeblock on Tommy Dreamer's chest with a chair - Balls Mahoney hits Steve Corino with an unsettlingly hard chair shot - Balls Mahoney slams Axl Rotten through a flaming table, Axl's shirt ignites. - Tajiri reverses a Super Crazy powerbomb attempt into a spinning DDT - Brian Lee chokeslams Tommy Dreamer off the balcony through 4 tables - Tajiri has Super Crazy in a weird but painful-looking submission hold - Tommy Dreamer chair shot on Raven who was handcuffed to the steel cage - Tommy Dreamer diamond-cutter on Justin Credible off a ladder - Francine blows a kiss to camera - Dawn Marie smouldering look to camera - RVD trie to reverse a Jerry Lynn tornado DDT into a Northern Lights suplex, but gets DDT'd. - Super Crazy springboard moonsault off the top rope into the crowd - Sabu triple jump moonsault on to RVD - Masato Tanaka powerbomb's Mike Awesome over the top rope through a ringside table - Raven posing with the tag belts - Taz standing arms folded wearing the ECW World Title belt -------------------- ![]() Let the pigeons loose. |

While we all do love mysteries where people post links to Youtube videos without bothering to say what the video is about, that one was already posted 2 posts previous. -------------------- ![]() Let the pigeons loose. |
