I thought it would be interesting, admittedly a few months before the event, to see just who people would like to see winning in their match and who they think actually will win? It might be interesting to resurrect this thread in a few months to see if anyone's changed their minds.
I think, so far, they are doing a great job keeping the match in the minds of everyone. It was a bold move advertising a match so far in advance, and so far I think they have been pretty clever in making sure that everyone is aware of what is on the way. At the moment I'd like to see Cena win, mainly as a reward for how excellent he has been in the last few months and how he stood slightly aside during the Punk feud, which he didn't have to do, and contributed brilliantly to one of the best feuds in recent years. Unless The Rock is coming back for even a short stay, I firmly believe it'd be a complete waste of time to have him win. He has to put Cena over.

Many rumor sites have stated they will wrestle 3 times, with the last match at Summerslam. The Rock has also confirmed he will be at Survivor Series to kick off the feud.

Cena, for all the "I'm done with WWE" reactions it'd inspire. And because Rock is poopy.
No, I don't really care who wins. It's weird, I really want to see the match, but I don't care which one wins, and I don't think the result matters. They're both so big that it's impossible to elevate or demote either one with the match. I think the result will depend on what's happening afterwards. If it's a complete one-off, I reckon Cena will win because he's the one selling the next year of pay-per-views. -------------------- ![]() QUOTE @HeelZiggler: here comes @TrueKofi I PROMISE IM NOT HIS OPPONENT TONITE..... or am i??? I'd put The Rock over. I think that could create a great edge to Cena's character. I could really see him fighting off the indignity and trying to goad The Rock into a rematch. Would be ace, I reckon.
I honestly have no idea who'll win. Cena could win if they go with the logic that he is the full-time star but The Rock could win if they want to send the crowd home happy. -------------------- |

I hope Cena wins for the reasons the King posted above. The Rock's such a popular name in WWE in 2011, that he's probably the only man that can spike ratings to that level. So if Cena beats him it'll be 10 times worse than that time he beat Triple H at Mania. The Rock in the "it was class when he was in it when it wasnt PG" role and Cena is in the "its shit now its PG" role. Its as big a match as any I remember. In Miami, with (I think for certain) the biggest ever WrestleMania audience, if Rock goes down for three the world would probably end. Vito might even come back just to leave again.
Saying all that, I think Rock might win. The publicity for a Rock title win in 2012 would be huge I think. And it might get people believing in the product if their former hero wins the belt again. And I really wouldnt care who wins because I like both. But I also like a hot crowd. And it would be such a amazing moment to witness Cena beating Rock. Either way, I have faith that nobody on earth could fuck this angle and match up. This post has been edited by Ian_hitmanhart: Sep 8 2011, 16:03 -------------------- ![]() |

Cena will win and then The Rock will put him over on the mic. Cant see anything else happening Cant see that happening. According to "those in the know", the crowd reaction and feedback when Rock put Cena over on the mic the night after Mania was incredibly negative. People who hate Cena arent going to start loving him just because Rock says its ok to. This should be a Michaels/Hart thing for me. No hand shakes. No arse kissing. Both of each man's fans dislike the other (more so on the Rock's half than Cena's). It would be vomit inducing if either backs down from their beliefs. Rock thinks Cena's a poor man's version of him and a walking gimmick, Cena thinks Rock's a sellout who left the WWE high and dry. I dont see why either man's opinion should change afterwards. Especially when you have a rematch begging to happen. This post has been edited by Ian_hitmanhart: Sep 8 2011, 16:07 -------------------- ![]() |

I think Cena will pick up the win simply because to me it makes no sence for The Rock to win.

I think Cena will pick up the win simply because to me it makes no sence for The Rock to win. Not true. Possibility of a re-match, desire to send the WM crowd home happy, keeping The Rock super over so that his cameos help business. Plenty of reasons. Losing wouldn't hurt Cena unless they pushed it as an angle. He's lost to Sheamus, Orton, Punk, etc. If he put in a great effort and shook it off, it'd be business as usual. I'd like to see it really effect him though. -------------------- |

The Rock will win, then Cena will batter the fuck out of him immediately afterwards. Leading to a rematch down the road.
On a side note, my initial prediction when the match was announced was that Batista would be revealed as the mystery GM, he batters Cena and The Rock wins. Cena could then attack The Rock at a movie shoot and get him in a rematch. -------------------- ![]() The Wagon is ready for take-off. |

I think a simple one on one contest with a clean finish is all that's needed. -------------------- ![]() |

And has his wheelchair, if possible. -------------------- |
