came across this article " The city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada has put in a bid to host WWE’s WrestleMania in either 2013 or 2014. "

Why can't the UK do something of that kind? i mean we have the venue, Wembley stadium would be a suited venue, especially for WWE's big stage. It would give people in the UK a chance to come see Wrestlemania as alot of people can't afford to pay for tickets and travel.

The UK should do something of that effect, as WWE's fan base is just as big in the UK as it is in the US, but i know WWE's popularity wrestling wise on this forum isn't at a high at the minute, but it would be good for people who cant travel to see WM to actually see it in there own country for once

Because of the time difference, primarily.

Discussed to death.

I agree with you to be honest, I'd love to see WM in the UK one day. While they were extremely big they brought (many many moons ago) Summerslam over here so I couldn't see why not!

Saying that I imagine they'll want to keep 'Mania besides their largest fanbase, maybe not for loyalty reason but perhaps more likely because there's a larger guarantee to sell out.

The old thing about 70%(may be wrong there) of Americans not owning a passport comes to mind. We're more likely to go over to US to see them than the Americans are of coming over to the UK.

It's been discussed many a time before. WWE would never go for it because of the time zone difference - they wouldn't be keen on showing Wrestlemania in the afternoon stateside, they certainly wouldn't show it on a tape delay, and if we take into account that the only suitable venues in this country are outdoor stadiums, the noise pollution factor would make it unfeasible to start the show after midnight, as some boxing cards have done over here for US TV coverage.

On top of that, Wrestlemania is pretty much a lock to get a massive attendance in the US or Canada anyway, so there's no benefit to WWE for bringing it over here. It's a case of the potential negatives outweighing the potential positives by a long, long way from their standpoint.

I honestly don't think we will ever get another PPV over here if and it's a big if we ever do the very best we can hope for is one of the B PPV's what doesn't get many buys anyway like maybe Extreme Rules or Bragging Rights but again even that is very doubtful

We can't do it because we're just a wrestling forum, we don't have the capacity to host a major sporting event.

This is a ridiculous argument that has nothing to do with it. It's about pay-per-view airtimes, maximum exposure, and maximum revenue.

Its quite evident that from the amount of support WWE gets when they are over here doing house shows that they could guarentee a sell out over here, especially for WM at somewhere like Wembley Stadium.

Seriously?

Wembley Stadium? An open-aired arena in March or April? At 1am?

Get a grip.

What would be the point when they can do similar in an American stadium at 7pm ET?

The only building in the UK that would be capable of holding Wrestlemania is the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff as it has a roof.

My flat has a roof. I can't rent it to Vince for Wrestlemania though, as it would violate my tenancy agreement.

Why do you think there hasn't been another SummerSlam over here since? It was an experiment that ultimately didn't pay off for them at the time, and would make even less sense now with Internet spoilers readily available. It has been discussed to death here. Someone summed it up perfectly above - the negatives far outweigh the positives. The only reason anyone suggests a UK WrestleMania is because they want to go to WrestleMania without getting on a plane. I'd love to as well, but there's no sense in us working ourselves up into thinking it's ever going to be as viable as a North American venue.

But I'm guessing your flat isn't a stadium, and I am also guessing your flat doesn't seat 75,000 people does it? Prick.

Well said, that pretty much sums it up completely.
