Kensuke Office The group will return to Korakuen Hall this August 17th, but will under "SEM" brand rules, meaning that it will have a focus on the young players in pro-wrestling. As of now, it's not determined if it will only be Kensuke Office and NOAH players, or if players from other organizations will join for the event, but Hokuto stated that after watching the 3/5 SEM event, that she thinks a lot of younger wrestlers are ready to wrestle at Korakuen and take wrestling by storm. The partial card for the 6/13 Osaka event was also released, with a "2 big singles" theme as NOAH will send over Naomichi Marufuji and KENTA for the event. Best of the Super Jr. - Final: ==================================== From Z1 USA Zero-1 Max On May 17 in Koshigaya, Saitama, ZERO1 President Shinjiro Otani will face "Mr. Danger" Mitsuhiro Matsunaga in a "Glass Rain Hell Iron Ball Death Match" as the "Unshakeable" Tour continues. Otani, after weeks of harassment and pressure to do so, decided to finally allow his upcoming scheduled match with Matsunaga to be a death match. "Mr. Danger" was quick to describe his new inventive match design: The Glass Rain Hell Iron Ball Death Match - The ring is surrounded by a steel cage except for one side which has a class pane installed. A specially equipped vehicle is set to back into the pane of glass causing it to explode inward. A glass pane is also set on top of the cage and at a specific time an iron ball is used to shatter the glass causing it to "rain" down on the wrestlers. Matsunaga invited Otani to come witness a demonstration of this new fearful concept at the Katsura studio in Koshigaya where the match will take place. While one side of the cage remained open, Matsunaga displayed how the Iron Ball and Glass Rain concept will work from the pane installed in the open ceiling. Matsunaga wore a baseball helmet and goggles and stood within the ring as the iron ball dropped through the specially installed glass pane sending glass flying around the ring with a terrific explosion of sound! Matsunaga's own leg was bloodied from the aftereffects of dangerous shards. Otani stood outside the cage, sometimes holding an umbrella, viewed the demonstration and was asked for a comment: "As you can see it's quite a fearful situation to be in. However before the time expires and the Iron Ball Hell falls...I want to have already won the match. If it falls and you are directly under it, you are in very serious trouble. That happening will put you in a life or death situation in this match. Before risking that for one second however, I will strike and defeat Matsunaga. As to what can happen in a match like this one - The imagination runs wild." The plans are for the Right Side pane to be exploded inwards at the 5-minute mark, then the Iron Ball will drop 3-minutes following at the 8-minute mark. -------------------- |

I cant be arsed to check all these different sites with regularity, so keeping this thread active with all the main news would be sweet.
Have the Kensuke Office shows ever had a bad main event? Going from memory alone, theyve all been gold. As it happens, I just saw the 8 man main from a few months ago, with the likes of Tenryu, Kawada, Sasaki, Takayama, Ohtani, and MiSuzuki. A chop fans paradise. Great entertainment. |

Great idea starting this thread, I've really gotten into NJPW lately and I try to keep up with whats happening in the other companies as well so I'm sure this thread will prove useful.
Looking forward to the BOSJ tournament although I can't figure out why, out of all the TNA juniors, Jimmy Rave has been chosen to represent the company. |

Those two singles matches are making me moist.
I can't be sure because it was in German and I'm not fluent but did Purolove hint towards Kobashi announcing he'd be having his first singles match since April '06 soon? -------------------- TGZ Every Female Wrestling Diva Nudey Pic In Existence - Updated Regularly - Just Register MATCHES OF THE YEAR 2009 |

Good topic, helps getting upto date with everything, and maybe it will have some more puroresu dicussions on the board aswell.
Agree with Philjax those two matches on Kensuke office show looks godly, cant wait until they get put up for download. Best of the super Juniors this year looks okay, I would think Ryusuke Taguchi would win the thing. -------------------- ![]() |

I share you're moistness.....................................Forget i said that If one of them doesn't turn out to be a MOTYC i'll be disapointed. Were does it say about Kobashi on purolove? There's a thing about an upcoming "3 Lottery Singles Matches" involving Takeshi Morishima, Naomichi Marufuji, Jun Akiyama, Akitoshi Saito, Takeshi Rikio & Mohammed Yone. Also an upcoming KENTA & Taiji Ishimori vs Kotaro Suzuki & Ricky Marvin GHC Jr Tag titles match. Last i heard Kobashi had been told to slow down. The BOSJ looks alright block B's a bit shitty but A should be fun. I seem to be the only one who things Rave will make the semis. Being TNA's representative i doubt there going to want him losing to many falls. I have him beating Naito, Devitt, AKIRA, timelimit draw with TM/Kanemoto, loses to TM/Kanemoto and then gets pinned in the semis probably by Takaiwa. Hope KENTA actually want to be competitive with Nakajima or at the very least a grumpy shit toward the young man. Not impossible a junior heavyweight MOTYC if the crowd will let them. Sasaki vs Marufuji can be anything from shit to holyshit! Depends on Marufuji's varying motivation and how Sasaki takes to working with a smaller man. Regardless a show I'm looking forward to viewing! QUOTE(ultimo the great @ May 17 2008, 15:44) The Best of the Supert Junior tournament looks so-so. The line-up is very similar to the last two years where the '06 version was pretty bad except for a super MOTYC final between Tiger Mask v Minoru while the '07 version had more good matches. Jimmy Rave being there does not help it's cause. He's close to my least favourite foreigner I've seen in Japan the last two years (working for Dragon Gate) and there he was thankfully hidden in spot style tag matches. Here he'll have to stand on his own two feet in singles bouts against established New Japan stylists. Good thing is that Zero-One's Takaiwa is in. He can be a real bastard and that should help the focus of the tournament. Wouldn't mind him winning, but since he's an outsider the chances of that are slim. Last years IWGP Junior Champion Taguchi would be a better bet. He's never won and he's feuding with the current champion Inoue. Inoue would also be a choice as he's a guy their pushing to the moon that's also never won the tourney, but since he's already the junior champ it would be more logic to let Taguchi take this one. Sadly the match I was mostly looking forward to isn't going to get taped. Liger vs Takaiwa. BJPW used glass a few times last year and it craeted some sick moments. Not impossible that this will top that depending on how safe Otani wants to play it. Again Zero-One finds themself as this unpredictable promotion of outcasts looking for an identity. Good that he found work in Zero-One, but his career wasn't going anywhere and he was just another rookie to feud with their own Namiguchi. Sendai Girls have switched to Samurai TV and with them being owned by MPro it probably means Mpro will follow them. Not sure were this leaves OZ and K-Dojo. If this is true, but I'll be very sadend. Good that Sendai is getting on Samurai. They usually have longer shows then GAORA's "Puroresu King" which is only 1 hour and 43 minutes. Samurai does full hours with less TV editing. Then again the puroresu world need this kind of show. It's like the old "Champ Forum" shows we had in the 90's that focus on multible smaller promotions. Let's hope Michonku Pro gets aired more on Samurai TV. They do have an working agreement of a 2-3 shows a year already, but they'll need more to fill out the monthly GAORA shows. What this will mean for Oz Academy and Kanentai Dojo I can't imagine. Kaientai Dojo is one of the real hidden gems on the puro scene. A small promotion that's got it priorities clear bringing some of the most consistant product of the smaller promotions. Ever since their creating back in 2002 they've been of GAORA, so I'm not sure they have any working relationship with any other networks. It would be very sad if we lose them. Oz Academy has been one of the women's promotions to watch after GAEA's death. They sort of took over GAEA's TV spot when they closed down in 2005 and like K-Dojo doesn't really have any deals with any other TV stations that I know of. --PUNQ-- -------------------- ![]() PUNQ DVD's * Loads of AJPW & NJPW Classics! * Over 1000 women's wrestling shows! * Everything from Japan 2006-2008 May 29, 2008 - GREAT NEWS!!!! My New Japan watching has slowed to a crawl over the last year and a half, which saddens me, but I still follow it as closely as I ever did as far as news and happenings.
Recently, the main couple of things that have piqued my interest about the product was Takashi Iizuka's betrayal of Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and of course the totally unbelievable result of Keiji Mutoh lifting the IWGP from "The Chosen One" Shinsuke Nakamura. Iizuka's betrayal of Tenzan (they even issued "FRIENDS" T-shirts with their pictures on them after Iizuka helped Tenzan's struggle against GBH) is honestly one of the most unexpected things I've seen in a long time. Who would have ever believed that "Mr Bland" Takashi Iizuka could be an effective heel? But by all accounts, that's exactly what he's become. A shaven headed, sleazy, sling wearing heel. Awesome, and I can't wait to see it. I still think GBH needs a main event level guy to really push them over the edge though. With Tenzan ousted, Togi Makabe appears to be the de facto leader, but I'm not sure that Makabe will ever get a run with the IWGP (unlike the Sekigun who have Nagata & Tanahashi, or RISE who have Nakamura and maybe Goto). I feel like one of the two home team guys needs to become GBH's new head man. A true Nagata heel turn (unlike the half turn they teased, then reneged on when he formed BLUE JUSTICE and then Team JAPAN) would be great, and of course, Hiroshi Tanahashi is still crying out to be the Ric Flair of NJPW as a cocky heel champion, so maybe GBH can be his "Horsemen" when he returns from injury. The other big news is Keiji Mutoh over Shinsuke Nakamura. For years, Nakamura has been the "Supernova" and the "Son of God" and been primed to be the man they see to be the company ace. How bizarre therefore that when he finally wins the IWGP for the second time by beating his generation rival Tanahashi, and 'unifies' the belt with the IWGP 3rd Belt by beating Kurt Angle, he fails against Mutoh. Did they just do this so that Nakamura can then beat Mutoh down the line, or have they realised what most people had already figured, and that Tanahashi should be the man? Plus, Tanahashi beating Mutoh will have far more historical significance than Nakamura getting his revenge (as Tana used to be ringboy for Mutoh, and both are followers of Tatsumi Fujinami's 'Dragon Road'). If Tanahashi is primed to recover the IWGP (probably next Jan 4th, after his comeback from injury), that presumably leaves Nakamura frozen out of the title frame for a good year. What do you do with him in the meantime? I suppose a G1 win this August would prime him for an autumn Sumo Hall challenge for Mutoh, but assuming he loses two straight to Mutoh, where next? Also - in AJPW, the result of the last show's main event (Osamu Nishimura & Nobukazu Hirai beat Suwama & El Samurai (19:22) when Nishimura used an backslide on Suwama.) suggests that a second Nishimura Triple Crown challenge is forthcoming. Bring it on~!! -------------------- |

What if they want Tanahashi to get the belt without beating Nakamura? It seems unlikely that they intend Mutoh to be a long term holder, but I can see them wanting to make Tanahashi's next encounter with Nakamura a big deal. If he was to defend against him the fans are likely to expect Tanahashi to lose, or to be in the fight of his life since Nakamura has 'the edge' in that matchup, so far as anyone has an edge in a pre-scripted entertainment form...

This is the Kobashi news I was refering to:
- Im Main Event fuhr Kobashi seinen ersten direkten Sieg seit dem Singles Match Erfolg gegen Marufuji am 23.04.2006 ein. I figure it may now actually say that 11/5 was the first main event he'd featured in since the match with Marufuji but that doesn't sound right at all. I'm sure some of his comeback multi-mans have headlined. QUOTE(PUNQ @ May 18 2008, 4:22) Sadly the match I was mostly looking forward to isn't going to get taped. Liger vs Takaiwa. I didn't notice that wasn't being taped QUOTE(PUNQ @ May 18 2008, 4:22) What this will mean for Oz Academy and Kanentai Dojo I can't imagine. The bastard of this is i've finally got a bunch of OZ to watch over the next few weeks and now they might not have tv in future QUOTE(edgecrusher @ May 18 2008, 14:36) What if they want Tanahashi to get the belt without beating Nakamura? The rumour is Muto has signed a contract for the rest of the year and the thoughts were he'd hold untill the dome and lose to a returning Tanahashi but Tanahashi's injury hasn't turned out to be as serious as first thought. I don't see him losing it to soon, they'll probably see how long he'll draw the crowds for with some of the fresh(er)matches against Chono, Tenzan, Nagata, Nakanishi maybe even Choshu. I'd guess to give Nakamura some momentum back he might win the G1 and to really give him something give him a pinfall over Muto in the tournament. QUOTE All references to LOCK UP were from the official New Japan homepage. Apparently New Japan's financial support for the project and has deleted Choshu probably no more than employees Booker / consultant from New Japan. There may be Choshu more shows under his banner Riki Pro organize. After WRESTLE LAND is also the second sub-brand of New Japan has been discontinued. Masahiro Chonos PREMIUM will continue. My translation: Lockup, Choshu, Wrestleland gone byby from New Japan. -------------------- |

I know I've been seduced by women's wrestling. And not even the joshi stuff. I need to try and get back into the way of watching more New Japan though (outside of the Tokyo Dome & Sumo Hall shows) - I should try and watch one show from every tour, really. I also promised myself at the start of the year when Nishimura defected to All Japan that I'd endeavour to watch more of that product, but I've failed miserably at that too. -------------------- |
