  1. 14th Sept! Finally, I'll get my chance. Don't blow it Michael.
  2. Dead Mike

    woke.

Same. Nobody blinks an eye and it's just a given. I spoke to someone called 'Rim' the other day, I would've assumed it was a bloke without it (unfortunate name though). Social media is the devil and the way any issue is quickly weaponised and taken to extreme points for content & clicks is fucking exhausting. I wish I was less guilty of delving into it through hate scrolling & curiosity. I'm now aware of people and 'hot takes' I would've previously been blissfully ignorant of.
  3. Emily The Criminal (Netflix) - Good ittle Indie thriller about a young woman, struggling in LA who turns to petty crime in order to keep her head above water. Excellent lead performance by Aubrey Plaza, 'Juice' from Sons of Anarchy is great too & reminded me of a young John Turturro. Some genuine moments of tension & it's only 90mins too.
  4. I'm going to see Drain tomorrow night at Rebellion in Manchester. It was originally meant to be at Canvas but that venue unexpectedly closed down a few weeks ago. Bit gutting as going ti new venue is almost as exciting to me as the gig itself. Curfew is 9.45 though, absolutely marvellous. Early curfews are the new 'free shots'.
  5. Just seen on my works MSN news home page that The Express are hailing Owen Jones criticism of Labour. 'My enemies enemy....' and all that.
  6. I know people mentioned it when Pearl Jam tickets went on sale but these 'legacy' acts charging extortionate prices has to hit a ceiling at some point. They're clearly working on the premise that their audience demographic will have the disposable income & are less likely to be going to lots of gigs so will justify it as a 'special night out' but it's still rotten. Previously the size of the venue would dictate the ticket price but this has seemingly switched to the audience the artist attracts. The 'dynamic' pricing model recently used by Green Day & Springsteen can fuck right off too. I've got tickets for Tool at the Manchester arena in June but after that I'm very tempted to just swerve these massive gigs altogether.
  7. Given that Jones is just the Farage of the left this is his 'Brexit isn't working moment. He's an agitator & a professional protestor, that's where his income & appeal comes from. Just like Farage was lost when he actually got the Brexit he'd spent years campaigning for Jones needs to find a new angle. His stock was already damaged after he'd spent years claiming what the people wanted was a 'proper left wing Labour leader' & when he got it 'the people' rejected it. Now he's doing this before he's resigned to whatever his equivalent of pointing at boats at Dover is. It'll probably secure him a media cycle. Some more appearances on The Wright Stuff & Loose Women. Job done.
