  1. Metal Hammer magazine posted an article on their Facebook earlier about a bloke who is a recovering alcoholic and has set up a record shop that also has a fully stocked non-alcoholic bar and coffee shop to give non-drinkers an alternative place to hang out. Pretty inspiring stuff you'd think but no, some twat comments saying that "wokeness has no place in metal" and he won't be visiting. Being teetotal is woke apparently. It's metalheads on social media, I know, I know, you should expect complete binwater opinions but this one just baffled me.
  2. Beats everything being called screamo I suppose.
  3. We went to see the new Ghosbusters at the cinema on Friday night as a family. Got our snacks and took our seats with about 20 minutes to spare before the film started. I'd got us good seats and my wife and youngest son, who are both pretty short and have had no end of cinema trips ruined because of obstructed views, both pointed out how they hoped nobody sat next to or infront of them as they had a good view of the screen and a bit of space. I went on the cinema website and started a booking for the 9 seats around and infront of us and kept refreshing it when the order timed out so they were unable to be booked if anybody turned up at the last minute and remained empty.
  4. I used to run a fancy dress shop in the mid-2000s and the catalogues to order stock from were a treasure trove of "We don't have a model of the right ethnicity for this costume, fuck it, get the greasepaint out" product pictures.
  5. They're on the same label as us, they're good lads. Got that real thick, sticky sludge sound. We tried to get on that Sheffield show too to make a weekend of it but no joy. Gozer are a cracking band, we're good mates with them too. That upstairs room is underrated. Last time we played with Conan at Corp it was in the small room downstairs and I'm assuming it would have been the same this time, even without that tribute band on. The upstairs venue is at least pretty sizeable, it's got that nice bar area and there's good sound.
  6. We played with them the Saturday night in Nottingham at Rough Trade. Played with both before and Wallowing are good friends of ours but they were both unreal the other night, Conan especially. Did you catch Voidlurker?
  7. I'm changing my answer to this. I remember my late brother in law showing me this at the time and it still cracks me up. Everything from 1:01 is pure joy.
  8. 10 pts- Time Crisis (arcade) 9- Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (Megadrive) 8- Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Megadrive) 7- The Last Of Us 2 6- Resident Evil (PS1) 5- Target Rennegade (Amstrad) 4- Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 (PS1) 3- WWF Smackdown Just Bring It (PS1) 2- Half Life (PC) 1- Command And Conquer: Red Alert (PC)
  9. That is stunning. Gutted he's got no prints of that for sale.
  10. I saw them last year with Municipal Waste and they were still brilliant. I've never been Joey's biggest fan but he's gotten way better live. The whole setlist was belting which helped and they've started to play some John Bush era stuff. I dunno, I thought he was really good on the last tour, way better than I've seen from him previously.
  11. Might be because they share a finisher with this guy
  12. I'm assuming that's Atkinsons car park? Street parking around there is pretty safe, if you drive round the corner from Corp there's Devonshire Green and there's a bit more parking on there and a proper car park at the top of the hill before you get to the main road (West Street). I was surprised by the late finish as it was advertised as a half 10 finish but they'd brough the doors 30 minutes earlier, I'm assuming to give Pig Destroyer a longer set. It was all acceptably priced, was frustrating that Primitive Man had sold out of a lot of bigger sizes already. I didn't realise until later on that I'd been charged in dollars and not pounds so got my PD longsleeve for 28 quid instead of 35 which was a nice surprise until I found out when I got home that their XLs fit like larges so I can't actually wear my bargain longy.
  13. Napalm Death/ Pig Destroyer/ Primitive Man/ Wormrot in Sheffield last night was as brilliant as can be expected. Primitive Man on the barrier was biblical but Pig Destroyer were something else. I've been a fan since Terrifyer came out but have never managed to catch them live. Bonus balloons and cake as it was Scott Hull's birthday.
  14. I've been a bit obsessed with the new Job For A Cowboy album Moon Healer since it came out just shy of a couple of weeks ago. Progressive, technical death metal with plenty of melodeath influence and just a touch of their deathcore roots thrown in for good measure. Absolutely ridiculous bass tone too.
