  1. I'd also recommend One Page Rules. At their core they're simplified versions of Games Workshop games, the basic rules are one page but even the expanded rules are 15 pages including intro pages so more like 8 pages of actual rules. It's also free to download and there's a free list builder on their site so put your army together so no having to buy and store loads of codex books. I think the 10th Edition Warhammer 40k rules are about 600 pages so way less time to invest actually figuring out the game. My 10th edition book is still on a shelf, I just can't face trying to get my head round it. Like Frost Grave OPR are figure agnostic so we just use my Games Workshop stuff. There's a wiki to explain what the equivalent miniatures are from other companies which is a big help but they offer official miniatures if you want. There's pre-built army lists and all sorts on there. There's large scale games the equivalent of 40k and Age Of Sigmar but the smaller skirmish games similar to Kill Team and War Cry where you only really need around 10 models each to play a game are ideal for me as I can't store hundreds of figures on the off-chance my kids will want to play a game.
  2. It's essentially a big burger loaf. Normally a mix of a couple of types of meat, sometimes with bacon across the top and a glaze/ sauce.
  3. Metal Hammer magazine posted an article on their Facebook earlier about a bloke who is a recovering alcoholic and has set up a record shop that also has a fully stocked non-alcoholic bar and coffee shop to give non-drinkers an alternative place to hang out. Pretty inspiring stuff you'd think but no, some twat comments saying that "wokeness has no place in metal" and he won't be visiting. Being teetotal is woke apparently. It's metalheads on social media, I know, I know, you should expect complete binwater opinions but this one just baffled me.
  4. Beats everything being called screamo I suppose.
  5. We went to see the new Ghosbusters at the cinema on Friday night as a family. Got our snacks and took our seats with about 20 minutes to spare before the film started. I'd got us good seats and my wife and youngest son, who are both pretty short and have had no end of cinema trips ruined because of obstructed views, both pointed out how they hoped nobody sat next to or infront of them as they had a good view of the screen and a bit of space. I went on the cinema website and started a booking for the 9 seats around and infront of us and kept refreshing it when the order timed out so they were unable to be booked if anybody turned up at the last minute and remained empty.
  6. I used to run a fancy dress shop in the mid-2000s and the catalogues to order stock from were a treasure trove of "We don't have a model of the right ethnicity for this costume, fuck it, get the greasepaint out" product pictures.
