I saw 21 Jump Street last week. I thought it was hilarious. Channing Tatum was surprisingly funny. Loved the cameo too!

Saw The Hunger Games last night. I'd already read the first book. I really enjoyed it. I think Jennifer Lawrence is amazing.

Watched a movie called Eldorado last night. Weirdest shit I've seen in years. It's about a jewish Blues Brothers act called the Jews Brothers, and has a cast that includes Steve Guttenburg, Michael Masden, Rik Mayall, Daryl Hannah, David Carradine and loads of other reasonably big names, singing songs from Blues Brothers.

What's the deal with The Hunger Games? Is it just like Battle Royale for the Twilight generation? I know next to nothing about it but loads of people I know are constantly banging on about it.

I thought it was more a Logan's Run dealio? I want to see it as it looks quite good

I was quite surprised by the hunger games when i went to see it. the performances across the board are very good. It's jennifer lawrence's movie and she is amazing but the older cast are all fantastic. Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks and especially Stanley Tucci (who was almost my favourite) are great in their roles. Donald Sutherland with his small role has a great impact

it could do with a higher age rating as well to be honest just to accentuate the violence. theres an obvious reason why they went with the lower rating and the violence can be quite brutal but the shaky cam they use for most of it is dissappointing and the weakest aspect on the film. its a great satire on reality television with the events surrounding the games with the people ocherstarting the games and the public who enjoy/are horrified by whats going on. the games themselves suffer from the fact that a few of the kids are basically "red-shirts" and aside from it getting too dark to see at times (frustatingly at one point) the game delivers.

the comparisons to twilight will be there as this is aimed primarily towards teens but this has much better actors (Donald Sutherland for christs sake) and a better story. there's a love triangle but one of them is barley on screen(guess theres more in the sequels). theres a couple of things i didnt get (havent read the books) but i enjoyed it and im looking forward to the sequel as ive no idea what will happen. although the ending gives me a slight idea.

Yeah I didn't mean to so much compare it to Twilight in anything other than it's a teen based book. That and the trailer is all I knew about it really. I'm intrigued by it and as I'm wildly in love with Elizabeth Banks I might give it a go next week as I can get to the cinema again now.

I've just looked at the top 10, Richie, and all you need to bother with is Dead Snow, Re-Animator and Braindead. Return Of The Living Dead might be good, but I haven't seen it.

That list is wank - I've never seen Dead Snow, but Re-Animator is fantastic, Braindead is great fun, Return of the Living Dead is pretty good too, and Street Trash is a whole lot a enjoyable trash.

Pssst... Richie... watch Combat Shock.

Watched the HBO film Game Change the other day, thought both Woody Harrelson and Julianne Moore were very good as Steve Schmidt and Sarah Palin respectively.

I was never a massive Toxic Avenger fan, but I did like Sgt Kabukiman NYPD and Surf Nazi's Must Die.

Whilst the film was disappointing, A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell is a great name.

That was from when Troma used to buy up cheap movies that had already had a release and re-title them with names that would appeal to the video rental market. Back in about 2000 Troma had their own show on Channel 4 on Friday nights and I think they went through almost their entire back catalogue. Some proper shite in there
