This would have to do pretty well for me to consider ever doing another book. I did this because, in writing the longform non-fiction stuff on my blog, I realised it was really fun, and that I'd hit a common theme. At one point last year, before I got burned on the Kindle experience, I was putting together a book about Hogan, but I ditched it. Coke-bloated, 1980s steroid monster era Hogan, aka the best one.

I'd love to read this but don't have a Kindle. I take it this is digital only?

Glad you found a theme to weave your blogs together, seems like a good concept.

I could read it on my iPhone I suppose. I'll download it later, it'll be something to read on the shitter at work.

Edit: to add to Sickboy's spokesperson status, do I need to d/l the Kindle App for my phone? I have literally never read an ebook before, being a big fan of paper.

Any chance you can do an Nook/eReader format? The Beach Diaries came out of Calypso looking like this:

INDEX

-- Foreword --

Chapter 1 -- A Clown without

a Circus

Chapter 2 -- Population: 1

Chapter 3 -- The Glans

Beyond the Sea

Chapter 4 -- Sweets from

Strangers

Chapter 5 -- God Save the

Quim

As a result, Frantic Planet has sat on my "will read at some point" pile.

Yeah, there's a free iPhone app. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=...ocId=1000301301

Jesus. The Kindle formatting is a bit of a nightmare. Essentially you don't really format at all, other than justifying, underlining and so on, because the devices do that in-house, as it were, and have to be customisable for the reader. But that often leads to a weird clash, like what you posted, when you try it on other devices. The 'test your book' bit when you publish has a drop-down menu of about a dozen different devices to separately scroll through an entire fucking book on, to see if it's decided to randomly knock one of your paragraphs ten pages from where it should be.

But no, probably no Nook format. Alls I can do is push that fucking app again :(
