  1. Yeah I don't see how having one of the most entertaining, engaging and original characters on your show being the Champion can ever be a bad thing. There's a vast difference between a character being funny and a "comedy character". Toni is very funny but the difference is she's not actively trying to make the audience laugh. She plays it completely straight, which is what makes her funny and most importantly believable, and is still presented as a capable physical threat in the ring and that's what makes it work. She's quite often the best bit of any show she's on and the best acts should be in top positions with Championships. Simple as that.
  2. The main thing to me is I want to see an epic and classic Bryan Danielson singles match. Whether that's a rematch with Ospreay, Kenny Omega or a new match with Pac or Samoa Joe or Orange Cassidy or Darby Allin...to me that's the thing of most importance on this show.
  3. I think that in the history books probably the best thing AEW will be remembered for is that it's a place where top guys can finish off their careers with one last hurrah, showing total creative freedom and a wide range of opponents from all over the world. Sting, Danielson, Christian and now Copeland who seems to be on the cusp of putting out some really special stuff. I'd like this to be a usual thing, guys winding down their careers in the most fun way possible in AEW.
  4. Not sure what "seen my own arse" means but I'm totally fine with it though and was unaffected by your original post. I'd rather just keep to discussing Dynasty or AEW related things in here if that's ok?
  5. Nah, you're just taking things far too seriously. So did you actually watch Dynasty and have any thoughts on it you'd like to share and discuss or are you just here to have a moan? Anyway, I checked out Hook vs Jericho on the train this morning. It was a painful watch. Some of the work in it was pretty decent and Jericho was obviously working hard. He doesn't need to be taking mad bumps like Exploders off ring aprons through tables but obviously he wants to prove he belongs and prove is willing to bump big to get young talent over but it just isn't working. Hearing the crowd chant "Please retire"...there's not really any coming back from that in a match. Huge pop for Taz just getting out of his chair at the end, whatever else happens the roof is going to blow off the building when he (hopefully) chokes Jericho out.
  6. I don't think that's fair, she was doing excellent work at the time and the bloody nose just helped put her over the top. Becky's initial run as "the Man" briefly got me back into WWE in a big way. I had pretty much checked out by that point but she became must see TV. When they absolutely bottled it at Wrestlemania by putting on a 3 way and have her win by fluke pin instead of a clean win over Rousey I checked back out again and haven't really gone back properly since. I've no clue what her work is like these days but I don't think that's an accurate view of the original angle. You couldn't have just slotted anyone else there and had the same result.
  7. Well it is the Dynasty discussion thread...
  8. What did you think of Dynasty @Arch Stanton?
  9. I don't know who that is but he's wrong and can fuck off. As great as Ospreay/Danielson was I think it's actually Jack Perry's incredible shit-eating grin that's stayed with me the most. Think we might be on to something special here. A new Champion. The Elite firing on all cylinders. Willow on the rise. Ospreay. Hangman waiting in the aisles...things are looking very tasty at the moment, lads.
  10. What absolute joyless cunt doesn't enjoy Toni Storm? They need a shoe to the head. As for who beats her, well if Jaime Hayter is healthy anytime soon she might want revenge on the person who (storyline) injured her in the first place. Hayter vs Storm at Wembley is the dream. As for the show, I skipped Jericho/HOOK but everything else was pretty bloody perfect. Incredible show. My only complaint was them using the Dynamite set for the entrance. Breaks my heart when they do that. Just a little effort with something different for the big shows goes a long way for me.
  11. Yeah Khali is a perfectly acceptable World Champion on accounts of just being an one of a kind absolute freak of nature that can never be repeated. He was also huge in India and would be all over the papers over there so you can at least argue the logic in making him Champ as they were trying to break into the India market at the time (no idea if they did or not). I always felt bad for him later in his run where his knees were clearly absolutely fucked and they'd have him waddle out to put over the fresh up and comer of the day. Even being a legitimate giant monster you couldn't accept him as a real threat when he could barely walk. There was one time The Miz absolutely beat the shit out of him with a steel chair that I just felt sorry for the guy. As for worst Champion it's got to be a battle between Jinder and Swagger. The types of Champions were even despite being former World Champions it never feels like they actually were because they were so shit and boring.
  12. What are you talking about? He would have been playing bass for Metallica, brother.
  13. There's something about Collision where because it doesn't have the pressure of being the flagship show it just feels more relaxed and fun. It's fast becoming my favourite wrestling show. So no surprise, but last night's episode was EXCELLENT. Two really great trios matches, incredibly bonkers and fun Bunkhouse Brawl, a great squash, decent fast paced tag match, solid women's singles all interlaced with great quick promos throughout and a hot crowd - you've got a damn near perfect episode of TV wrestling. If you like wrestling at all, do yourself a favour and watch this episode with a cup of tea or bowl of cereal, relax and have a great fucking time.
  14. The MJF/Cole stuff was a fucking brilliant midcard story. Unfortunately MJF was World Champion at the time. It would've been perfect for the TNT or tag titles.
  15. He's an old hack running the same grift as every other old hack with a podcast. He knows it gets him in the clickbait headlines so he just keeps doing it. Same as Jim Cornette, Bubba Ray Dudley and the rest of those washed up old boot licking cunts.
