LariatTom
Looking forward to this show, picked up tickets for it a few weeks back after persuading my brother to come up to Leeds for a couple of days (and giving me a welcome break from writing essays). Not too far from my house either, so it'll make a change to be able to walk to a show instead of trekking around on a train! Â I was trying to think if we've had a Roses concept before. I know there have been England vs Scotland style shows done before, but anything with the War of the Roses? I imagine it would have almost certainly happened a while back, but nothing in recent years unless it completely passed me by. Still, looks a very fun card and the venue looks interesting. I've never been there, but from those photos it looks a bit like the place PCW used while Lava was getting done up.

There are so many talented wrestlers in both Yorkshire and Lancashire and pitting them against each other should make for an exciting show. We're very lucky to have this venue for it. They do a lot of big DJ nights there, so the sound and lighting alone should provide a great atmosphere.
movesetsarecool
Posted on behalf of TGW (@TrueGritPromote) Â We have been looking into arranging a taxi service from Leeds train station and/or a coach service from Manchester if there is demand for it. The venue is obviously in Yorkshire, but it would be good if we had representatives from Lancashire there supporting their team also. If this is of interest to any of you please e-mail me at j.carr@truegritwrestling.com for further details. Â The War of the Roses will also be the official launch night of 'The Merch Stand' - an alternative wrestling merchandise company. The first t-shirt designs will be announced shortly via the website at www.merch-stand.com. Â Please also note the show is 14+ and with the exception of the VIP section is a standing event. Paid Members Big Benny HG Posted April 11, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted April 11, 2014 Definitely interested in this. The venue looks great. If PCW has proven anything it is that a good venue, with an awesome sound system, really adds to the presentation and enjoyment of an event. Music is such an important part of wrestling. Â Some top name stars set to appear as well. The Yorkshire-Lancashire theme should be great fun. Looking forward to it.

Looking forward to it.  I definitely agree about a good venue and sound system adding to an event. We're starting to see a few more shows taking place in nightclubs for this reason I think, and it can only add to things.  Looks like I'll see you tomorrow. LariatTom
Some quick results for anyone interested in the show. I can't remember much of the specifics since it's been a few days and my mind's a bit on the hazy side  Joey Hayes w/ Chris Egan (Lancs) defeated Sam Wilder (Yorks). Hot opener to start the night with some fun antics from Chris Egan and his Red Rose flag. Valkabious (Yorks) defeated R.J. McKenzie (Lancs) - Eh...I have my opinions of Valkabious, they haven't changed much. First time seeing RJM, I liked what I saw. Blackpool Blondes (Lancs) defeated Project Ego (Yorks) after some shenanigans involving the valets for both teams. The Blondes' valet gave Kirby an unsighted low blow. Brilliant match and probably the best stuff I've seen from the Blondes. El Ligero (Yorks via Los Sanchos) defeated Bubblegum (Lancs) in a match that was nothing short of what you'd expect from these two guys. Gum does Rampage Brown (Yorks) defeated Cyanide (Lancs) in a war to end the war. These two went all over the building, destroyed some of the barriers and used it as a weapon. Really fun stuff  Yorkshire won the War of the Roses 3-2. Great night of wrestling and a cracking venue. The crowd were definitely into it, hopefully there'll be a return show at some point and the crowd will grow after a top debut show.

I've been without Internet for about a week, but plan on sharing some more thoughts on what was a fun show in the next day or so.
