Thought i'd get this thread started now seeing as the fixture list's are released on Friday for what could be one of the best and closest run season's in the league's history, although now i've said that it will probably be any but. As much as i look out for United's games against City, Liverpool, Chelsea etc and really looking forward to when we go play Swansea and QPR as they should be good games with a great atmosphere and nice to see some new grounds aswell, although Loftus Road is hardly new haha, but you know what i mean.

Any games in particular your looking out for? Your predictions for who will finish where and who you will think will be in a relegation battle this season?

Let the discussion begin....

Can't say I'm too excited about playing QPR & Swansea again :p

It may just be blind optimism, but I have absolute faith that if Paul Lambert stays (and there's no reason why he shouldn't) we will stay up. Three players in so far who are exactly the sort I expected Sir Paul to buy - Vaughan, Morison and Bennett from Brighton.

While I'd like to see one or two 'experienced' Premier League players come in, I don't think it's the be all and end all that some claim it to be.

Can't wait for Friday - a year of planning awaits.

Lame outlandish prediction in the event that it's right, I can come back and claim to be a genius :

Arsenal will lose Fabregas and Nasri and fail to find suitable replacements.

Tevez will leave City and their foray into the Champions League will expose their squad as not strong enough to challenge on the two biggest fronts.

The top four will be, in no particular order, Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs.

OTHER CRAP PREDICTIONS

Drogba will leave Chelsea for either Spurs or City.

Kaka will come to Chelsea or City.

Higuain or Benzema will come to the Prem.

VdV or Modric will leave Spurs but they will revert to 4-4-2 and be better as a result.

Villa will sell their best players over the summer and as a consequence finish in the bottom four.

Fulham will be this season's "surprised they're down there" team.

QPR will beat Man United at Loftus Road.

Arsenal will finally break their trophy duck and win the League Cup... although I thought that last year.

A "bigger team" will come in for Taarabt in January.

Charlie Adam will warm the bench at Liverpool.

Does anyone think Liverpool can end their trophy drout?

No Henderson and Adam don't improve them much if at all. Downing is a on/off player. Battle with Spurs for 5th again.

I don't think that they will, but there's no reason why Liverpool can't be in the mix to win the league. I think winning a cup is more of a realistic target though.

My prediction for the season is that Rio Ferdinand will hang his boots up at the end of it.

A few predictions for the season.

United to win the league, City to finish 2nd, Chelsea 3rd. Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal close battle for 4th.

City to reach CL semi final in debut season, Madrid to win it.

Liverpool to win league cup, Chelsea FA cup.

Wigan, QPR and Swansea relegated.

I'm reserving my right to hold off on naming my predictions until wwffan2 tells us his picks. What can I say, the lad knows his footy. Seriously, did you see the way he got it all right last season?! I'm thinking of asking him to pick me 6 numbers on the lottery too. You never know! United winning last season, who'd a thunk it?!

Aaaanyway, its a strange one for me. I can see Liverpool doing really well, perhaps even one of the domestics, but I actually can't see past United winning again. With Liverpool though it's all dependant on how soon Kenny can assemble the squad he wants. While the signings being touted aren't ground breaking names I can really see it coming together sooner rather than later. So many false dawns for me though that i'm saying that with fingers definitely crossed!

I think Man City is dependant on Tevez staying regards how high up they finish.

I really do fancy all three promoted teams to stay up too. Only problem with that is I'm unsure who will go down. I think Wigan will be a certainty but the last two spots could be from a list of 3 or 4. It's gonna be another close season I feel.
